Great location downtown and the price was great!

Had a great view, clean, and a very helpful and friendly staff.

We were very satisfied with our room. Parking was $48 which included valet parking so I thought that was reasonable. A very good experience.

I have stayed at other comparably priced hotels in the vicinty of the Regency, but I was very pleased with the comfort of the room.

with parking included, abd a jr suite, this was a bargain!

It bothered me that there was a fully stocked refrigerator in our room that we could not put our personal items in. If we took stuff out in order to make room for our own things they would charge us. So basically its a Vending Machine. I called and complained and they did give us a refrigerator in our room free of charge.

Wanted to catch some Cubs and Whitesox games and go to the Field. The hotel is a great location for all that and the Navy Pier. It has a great casual bar. The rooms were only adequate though. The furnishing was a little shabby and the carpet needed replacing. There wasn't enough shelf space for two people in the bathroom. The phone by the bed didn't work. The service was above average though. The price was a little less than others in the same category and area. If you want to stay in a decent hotel near the Mag Mile but want to save a little money... it's OK.

Only stayed one night. Great location and views. Staff was very helpful, upgraded our view and found free parking option!

Hotel location was excellent - right in the heart of things. The room was clean, the amenities were great, everything was well worth the price.

Very Loud Hallways, Air System dripped all night, & Temperature fluctuated within the room drastically.

I thought many elements of the room were very modern..the bed, flat-screen tv, the decor & such. however, i found the old slide-chain lock on the door strange. also, the bathtub looked a little dated. lastly, the toilet was that weired tankless/public toilet type. these things seemed to conflict all of the other modern amenities throughout the rest of the hotel.

No valet service-or at least couldn't find it. One lady said they wouldn't let her unload her bags in front of the west tower.We had to unload luggage in basement garage and haul up to rooms thru circuitous routes underground. Signage to hotel sparse. Elevators very crowded upon check out. Waited 10 minutes to catch one on Sunday morning and finally just used the stairs (carrying our luggage). If you like a very big, crowded hotel, this is the one for you.

Hotel was very clean and comfortable. Ordered extra coffee and cream twice during our one night stay. Both times it arrived in less than 5 minutes. Staff extremely friendly. Plenty of clean towels. Comfortable beds, nice cold air conditioning, fast elevators, beautiful view from your room, premium cable channels, lot's of informational magazines on the city of Chicago...maps etc. Definitely would stay again. One little thing I didn't understand such a huge hotel not having a swimming pool.

Only negative was exorbitant $48 for parking. We found parking two blocks away in a well-lit, safe garage for $29 a day.

My stay was very satisfactory until the last two days. A very large convention of poorly chaperoned teenagers pretty much ran around their floors yelling, screaming, and drinking usually starting around 12:00 am, and continuing all night. If I decide to stay at a Hyatt, or any other four or five star hotel, I'll first check to see if anything like that is happening, and if it is, request a room the opposite side of the "world" from that event.

My boyfriend and I went to Chicago 4th of July weekend to celebrate the holiday and our one year anniversary. Before we even got to the hotel I was skeptical after reading some of the reviews but I intended to keep an open mind. I'm writing this review to calm some concerns because, quite frankly, I don't get some of these reviews. From the moment we pulled in we were treated like royalty. We had no idea what we were doing because we hadn't stayed at a hotel this nice before but they were extremely helpful in leading the way. Yes, parking is $48 per night but you are in Chicago so just get used to it. We got a very nice room with a great view for no extra cost on the 30th floor by an elevator. I saw a lot of reviews that complained it was too loud being located here. Not at all. We could here some chatter but it wasn't any more different than at any other hotel. As far as hotels go, this is the nicest one I've stayed in. The beds are an absolute dream and I never wanted to get up. The rooms were a great size, bathrooms were spotless, and the water pressure and temperature were great! For being 4th of July weekend and having a completely booked hotel, they did a great job. They treated us so kindly all the way through us leaving. As we left, the valet hardly let me lay a finger on anything. He grabbed my suitcase from me, opened up the car door, closed it for me. It was a terrific experience. When we go back to Chicago, the Hyatt Regency is our hotel of choice.

This hotel succeeds mostly due to location and name. It's huge, with all the advantages and disadvantages that come with size. The very large room we stayed in had been remodeled fairly recently, had nice furnishings and amenities, but the floor plan was awkward -- possibly the result of combining two smaller rooms. The bathroom had no exhaust fan, and an exposed pipe under the sink led to a far-away wall, making it appear that the bathroom has been "rotated" 90 degrees during the remodel without accounting for the need to re-route the plumbing. The common areas are also awkward. Elevator access is very poor when the hotel is busy. Plan on waiting 10 minutes or more. The restaurants and bars are large but not especially pleasant spaces. Food and beverage prices are high, even by major city hotel standards. But I do have to give this place credit for the very comfortable bed and luxurious sheets and pillows. I got an excellent night's sleep.

The Hotel is in a great location. I was a little disappointed with the size of the room, I had reserved a room with 2 double beds, got a very small end room with only 1 double bed. Worked out ok, because as it turned out, I was traveling alone.

this is a premier hotel in the chicago area. on the plus side, very convenient, right on the chicago river, huge, all the amenities, couple of great restaurants in house. on the not so much side. it is extremely busy and can be crowded. decor is modern, not my favorite but perhaps yours. lobby noise can drift up to rooms overlooking it. room service menu is good but somewhat limited. excellent meeting facilities. generally, i prefer to stay in smaller quieter hotels, but there is no other reason not to stay here. definitely 5 stars.

At check in, I was told there were no more king beds available. Really? 2,000 rooms and no king beds available? Even though I booked months in advance. When I got to the room I was hugely let down. The room was tiny, the smallest room I have ever seen. It was barely larger than the queen size bed. The bathroom was a dump, and tiny. No tub, just a tiny shower, which was plugged up and immediately dumped water over the rest of the tiny floor. I found a condom wrapper and empty booze bottles in the garbage can. I called to report this to the front desk ans was met by this response "What would you like us to do about it? Well, having garbage left there doesn't really bother me, but it does make me question how well the rest of the room was cleaned. Eventually I strolled down to the front desk and demanded a larger, clean room. I was given a room with a king bed right away (weird, I thought they were all booked)Unfortunately I was now 20 floors lower staring at a rooftop. I was there for three days with a wedding party and everyone told me a similar encounter with the front desk and the room. The interior was a huge let down, It was the most expensive of any I considered, and the concierge and front desk were the rudest and least helpful I have encountered anywhere. The location is excellent, the big bar in the lobby is sweet, but I will never ever go back.

Loved the Hyatt....have stayed there in the past with no incidents to report. Unfortunately my last trip they had many of the over-excited Hondurans that were just like staying with out of control teens. I called down to security at 3:00 am and they finally got them to quiet down after 30 minutes of LOUD noise on our floor! Terrible experience and be sure to call ahead to find out if they are hosting a large contingency from outside the US.

I spent a long weekend sightseeing with 2 boys (ages 11 & 14). Location was great, only blocks from trains and across the street from bus and tour trolley. I got the family special which included breakfast buffet. There was confusion on check in because the hotels.com notes didn't include this item. I had the printed receipt which did list breakfast so they gave me coupons. The breakfast had a wide selection including omelet bar. There were also beautiful views from some rooms of the Chicago River and the lake. Ours just looked out on the next building and was pretty dark. Double beds seemed small but were comfortable.

Everything thing was great about the hotel; location, restaurants, food, etc. The only thing that didn’t make the hotel a 10 was there was no swimming pool. I read the description of the hotel but I assumed there was a swimming pool. I actually love this hotel, if it was just me and a friend, but having kids that LOVE to swim, I would have to choose another hotel.

This hotel is awesome! The service is great, the amenities are top notch, and the location is perfect. If you can get for the price I paid you will not regret it.
