Doubletree Hotel Chicago Magnificent Mile - Chicago

Hotel room was great, location good, shower very nice but elevators were down on Monday when everyone was checking out. Waited 15 minutes, asked a maid to let us use service elevator. D4 saloon across street has great brunch

Two night stay with no fresh towels or room cleaning until we requested it. When we asked for trash to be picked up, we were given trash can liners and emptied the trash ourselves. We requested baby cribs two days before arrival and had to repeat the request upon arrival. One of the two rooms was not ready at the 3:00pm promised time.

The hotel was nice enough. Great location. They could stand to remove/clean the heating vent in the bathroom that looks pretty nasty. But overall, it's an OK place for a chain hotel. Don't expect the concierge to help you though. The guy on duty when we were there had no idea where one the Chicago Theater was. That's one of the primary theaters in Chicago. And he wasn't aware of the concert there, which was a big one and a four-day stint. We thought it was funny that he had a button on that said "Catch me at my best." We wondered when that time might be... The other concierge had little or no personality and didn't really seem interested in answering my simple questions. That's the downfall of staying at a chain hotel I guess.

Bags took a while to get up to room but other than that a fabulous experience.

The room was very clean and comfortable. Walking distance to the Navy Pier and a couple blocks from the bus stop that takes you directly to the museums. Would definitely stay there again!

My family and I enjoyed the convenience of the short walking distance to the Magnificent Mile from the hotel. The rooms were appropriate and the staff was very gracious and accomodating. The only suggestion(s) that we have for the Doubletree Hotel is to invest in cleaning the carpets in the front lobby. First impressions are just that-the carpet stain was what we noticed initially, but the greeting by the staff member named Cookie quickly distracted us and allowed us to start a great weekend and begin to enjoy the hotel amenities.

Everything was great about this hotel. We parked at the next parking structure instead of the hotel, which saved a bit of money. Didn't like finding a charge on our credit card for something we didn't use.

The staff here was wonderful. They were friendly and offered great advice for a first time Chicago stay. Great location, walking distance to several attractions. Will stay here again.

Great location. Rooms are nice but bathrooms are small and could use up grades. Towels only cahnged once per day.

Great place, highly recommend. Would have been great to have internet though for work. Great location for dining, shopping, etc. Pool is nice but there is no hot tub. TV's also are old an need to be replaced. Cookies upon check in may be the best I have ever great. Great idea! And the beds....wow. I would have to say that is one of the most comfy beds I have ever slept on. The hotel staff is also very friendly and accommodating. Great price for the room. Enjoy!

Registration/front desk staff was quite professional and courteous; concierge was very helpful finding/referring me to gay/lesbian night life. The room was nicely kept, clean, and quite comfortable. Very happy with the hotel, especially the rate from hotels.com when I booked it the same day.

Very Nice hotel, Clean and modern rooms, Nice lobby, great location near The Pier and only a few blocks to "The L" to get around. Admittedly the pool looked nicer in the hotels.com pic than in reality, but overall very pleased.

My room smelled slightly of smoke, but the accommodations and location were great.

Cookie snacks and the beds and bathroom was huge with a double sink. And good water pressure in the shower.

parking is outrageous. they charged me twice for 48 hrs when i only stayed 36 hours.

We too stayed 2 nights and it was the perfect location. Our kids loved Navy Pier and it was only a short walk away. With Dunkin Donuts, Baskin Robbins, and 7-Eleven within a block it was perfect. The room had comfortable pillows and was extremely quiet. The outdoor pool was a hit as well as the warm cookies at check in. We plan to stay here everytime we visit Chicago!!

Our family goes to Chicago a couple of times a year, but this is the first time we stayed at this hotel. The price was slightly higher than some of the other hotels we've stayed in, but we were very satisfied overall. The room was spacious and clean. The staff was extremely friendly in spite of the fact that it was a very busy weekend. The electronic thermostats are a nice touch, and so are the warm cookies at check-in.

It would take up to 6 minutes to get an elevator and most times it was completely full. With 26 floors you could not take the stairs. There were 4 elevators and it always took forever.

Great area. Nice rooms and good views.

The parking garage in the same building charges parking fee higher than others, about more than $40 a day and they don't have wireless internet service.

This hotel is probably located in the perfect part of downtown Chicago! It's very close to Michigan Ave., Navy Pier, and the parks (Millenium and Grant). Of course, the hotel itself is typical Doubletree quality. The staff was super friendly, the room was great, and the cookies were perfect!! Another great stay at Doubletree.

Pleasant staff, nice clean room, good location. Our "lake view room" only showed about a foot of lake between buildings. (wouldn't spend the extra money) And had to pay for internet... otherwise pretty good for the money.

We had a great stay at this hotel. It is located close to Michigan Ave,the Navy Pier, and within walking distance to the restaurants on Rush St. It also has a great outdoor rooftop pool. The only downfall of our stay, was that we ended up with a handicapped bathroom, which has no storage space for stuff, and a handicapped shower, so be sure to check on this when you get your room.

i only wish it didn't cost $40 a day to park.[24hr}

Parking connected to the hotel lobby is 41 dollars a day, which is paid at the reception desk, NOT the parking attendant. If you pay at the attendant, you'll have to pay each time you go in and out instead of just the 41 dollar flat-rate. There's a parking garage on Ontario that only charges 36 dollars a day, and cheaper by-hour rates if you're not going to use your car, and just need to store it there. I had no complaints otherwise! It's a short walk to Navy Pier, and the bus stop is very nearby the hotel. I suggest keeping that car parked somewhere and just walking and taking the metro!

What is more welcoming than fresh baked cookies at check in? YUM. Hotel was clean and comfortable-queen size beds!! Pool was outside-pretty cool view from there! Staff was courteous and quick. Walk to Navy Pier, Millenium Park, Pizza..all the essentials when visiting Chicago.

This hotel is a great value for the money. It is within walking distance to many attractions. The only problem we had was that at check in they gave us a room that was already occupied. But, the problem was quickly resolved and we were given vouchers for free breakfast for the small inconvenience.

Great location and hotel. Only comment is that there needs to be a shelf or stand for toiletries in the bathroom.

The DoubleTree hotel in Chicago is very conveniently located which enable the family to walk everywhere we wanted to go... Navy Pier, Grant Park, Michigan Ave. The rooms and overall hotel were clean and comfortable and the service was very good. I would recommend this hotel when staying in the downtown Chicago area.
