Prima hotel.We kwamen s'middags om 4 uur aan, maar de door ons geboekte executive room was nog niet schoongemaakt door housekeeping. Daarom werden we geupgrade naar een suite. We hebben dus geen klachten!

Een erg goed hotel, staff is ook erg vriendelijk en maakt veel mogelijk!! Alleen het zwembad en viel beetje tegen. Erg vriendelijk maar het zwembad zelf stelde niet zoveel voor en de kosten die erbij komen voor stoombad en sauna zijn teveel voor de prijs die je betaald.. Lijkt ons

Very convenient locatin for travelling on public transport. Were checked in immediately on arrival. Large room well furnished with lovely bathroom. Hotel staff very friendly and efficient, anything we asked for was supplied quickly. The information desk is manned all the time and they couldn't be more helpful. Very good hotel and would recommend it. Only one thing that let it down slightly was the slightly worn carpets on the corridors, but that was minor, bedding and towels were changed every day

The hotel is in a great location, right on the corner. We even had a room facing Central Station. The hotel and room were very nice but it was a little expensive. Granted this was our first stay in Amsterdam and it was the weekend so it could have been par for the course. I would stay here again.

This was the best hotel we have stayed in for years The staff are great and the rooms are large with all the things you would need and more thankyou for a great weekend

Very conveniant location just across from Centraal station and city center,walk to all the Dam has to offer which is plenty

The concierge and front desk service were lovely but our room was in dire need of an update. We have paid a lot less to stay in much nicer rooms. The location of the hotel is very convenient but for the money there are several other nicer hotels nearby. Those with small children be warned, I was shocked to find free channels with pornography on them at all hours of the day. Not really appropriate for families I didn't think.

The room was decent. An older hotel with a very cool facade and nice lobby & hotel bar & restaurant right across from the Central train station and in the heart of all the tourism action in Amsterdam. Very central to all the things one would want to see in Amsterdam with all the public transportation hubs just across the street. It wouldn't hurt to open the windows and air out the place a bit though. Smells a little musty in the hallways. The staff were very courteous & the concierge staff really exceeded all my expectations. Really great people. I'd stay there again.

They spent literally hours helping me find assets and report lost cards after having my wallet stolen on the tram. They even lent me money to go downtime to pick up a wire. -mike

This was a great location to the train station and other attractions in the city. Large room & very update.

The hotel was fantastically positioned straight opposite the train station making it so easy with bags. All public transport are immediately opposite making it so easy to gain access to the outer reach area's of Amsterdam such as the Artis zoo and heineken brewery. Extremely close to brilliant restaurants, cafe's, coffee shops and tourist attractions

Hotel was very busy at time of our stay,but quality of service was still excellent. In particular I was very pleased with the concierge service who were of great help with a problem I had with my passport. They helped contact my embassy and went beyond their call of duty.I would have no hesitation about reccomending the Park Plaza Victoria.

I did not like the customer service provided by the hotel staff. The hotel does not have airport pick up and drop off service. The hotel does not have anyone that helps you with luggage. My room that i was provided did not have air conditioner working in it. The solution they came up with was provide me with desk fan which possibly cant cool a room in any way. I will not stay at this hotel again. I recommend you not to stay there as well.

Great hotel, literally a 2 minute walk from the station. All attractions walkable, canal boat one day pass a good idea. Only down point was the size of the pool, too small to do any worthwhile swimming. Breakfast good but expensive

My partner and I stayed at the Victoria for 3 nights. We decided to spend it in comfort and booked a suite (room 552). Slightly disappointed with the 'suite' , big room and plenty of space however, carpets, sofa, lamp shades etc very badly stained. Don't think this room was one of the refurbished ones which have recently been done. Only other negative we found, is that we had booked bed and breakfast, one morning we thought we'd have it in the room and relax to be told by reception that if we wanted it in the room we would have to pay full price again (€29 each), bit excessive. All in all the hotel has a great location, walking distance to everything, bar staff downstairs lovely to talk to and very helpful, as with all the other staff we came into contact with. Will return to the hotel, however would not waste the money booking a suite as normal rooms are presented better.

We were very happy with this hotel. As soon as we left the train station we could see it. Our room was ready when we arrived. The front desk staff and concierge were very helpful. The room was a good size. Our only complaint was the comfort of our bed and we had a third person that we paid a lot for and the third bed option was a cot. Other than that we were very happy with this hotel.

I stayed at the Park Plaza during a 24 hour layover in Amsterdam. It is an easy walk from the central station and so access from and to the airport was no problem. Better to have the amenities of the city than be stuck in a remote suburb at an airport hotel. The accommodations were very comfortable after a long flight. I especially liked that the curtains effectively block out light for an afternoon nap.

For the price, the Park Plaza Victoria is in a great location and the rooms are what is to be expected. If you're taking a shuttle or cab to the hotel, they call it the Victoria. I'd without a doubt stay there again should I return to Amsterdam.

this is an excellent hotel location is great for touring around easy to find and the staff all speak very good English i would use this when i am going to Amsterdam again.

the victoria hotel can be seen across the road when you leave the train station. the staff were all friendly and polite. we had booked an executive room (non smoking with king bed) and that is what we got. we had tv, mini bar, coffee machine, wardrobe with iron and ironing board, sofa, chair, desk and another chair downstairs and the bed with chair and another tv were upstairs. the rooms were cleaned and towels and sheets changed daily. breakfast included hot and cold food with all the usual cold meats and variety of breads and cheese also fresh fruit and cereal. we did not eat during the day as the breakfast kept us going. we will definately return to the victoria hotel and have no hesitation on recommending it to all ages.

Service was good and the room was nice. Not the greatest hotel I've ever stayed in but good for the money.

We were traveling with my niece, so booked the executive suite room and asked for a rollaway. Everything was clean and nicely appointed, with a nice view of the square outside the train station. The suite consisted of an office and a separate sleeping room, by far the most spacious we had in visits to Paris, Amsterdam, Bruges,and Barcelona. Although it's location was to the side of the city, we had no trouble finding places to dine around the hotel and could easily walk to the things we wanted to see. Trams and canal boats are other convenient modes of transportation.

As long as you don't get room 115 or 116 I think this hotel would be perfect. Those 2 rooms are between the 1'st level and the ground floor and you have to take steps to get down from the 1'st floor. The bed was rather lumpy. The bathroom was extremely cramped and not a full door to block water from coming out of the shower. The pool was not easily accessable and don't use your credit card on the pay by use internet. Buy a voucher or it will hold over $60 USD from your card for several days. The hotel will also hold 85,00 Euros too for incidentals until several days after you leave. The staff was really helpful except for giving the worst room. Concierge guys were great and very helfpul!

The hotel reception and foyer are nice and give the feel of a nice hotel, however, the quality of room and bathroom leaves a lot to be desired. The room quality at BEST is 3 star rating and no more. Bathroom was small and cheap and the beds were uncomfortable and not what you would expect for a advertised 5 star hotel. Guests must pay for internet access within the foyer "business centre" and the cheapest card available is €10 for 30 minutes, this was surprising as most quality hotels has free access for guests.

The location of the hotel is perfect: right next to the train station, which is the central point in Amsterdam. The downstairs was very nice as well, but it was the room itself that was awful. Dark, all brown furniture, with a shower so small you can barely lean over to soap up your feet. The window in the room overlooked a whole in the building with dead birds in it.

The Victoria Hotel in a perfect location overlooking the Amsterdam Central Train Station. Now I know that may not sound so good to some, but those that have been in Amsterdam know that the train station is one of the most stunning structures in Europe. We were fortunate enough to get an Executive room on the 3rd floor (it was actually the fourth floor) with a full view of the station and all the bustling action in the middle of the Amsterdam City Center District. The room was large by European standards and the bathroom was also large and very well equipped. The hotel was beautiful and the staff (especially the concierge and front desk staff) were the best we encountered in our European travels. We were walking distance to most things and only seconds from convenient public transportation for trips to the museum and other remote areas.

i booked 2 rooms and when we were assigned the rooms at check in, we were pleased they were on the same floor just 3 rooms apart. However one was a newly refurbished and one was the 1970's version. since the hotel was full we could not get a newer one for my friends. Their TV did not get cable, they had poor lighting and none of their adapters or the hotel's would work in the old sockets. Their coffee pot did not work. They spent alot of time in our room. For the same money!!!!

Arrived late at the hotel and all you want to do is get into your room and relax. Service was curtious and polite but the standard of rooms are poor. I paid for an executive room and the first room was tiny, dark and tired. Window view was within a yard of brick wall and the room smelt of damp, I complained and got moved to another room that was down in the cellar, many steep stairs, no lift. I opened the bathroom door and the smell was rife (pipe problems). The third room I got was basic and small but no smells in need of repair, didn't have the energy to complain again after nearly an hour moving rooms.

Of all the European hotels I have stayed in over the years, this is the most overrated. We were only there on a one night trip - coming up from Brussels. So, I think the staff gave us the absolute lowest quality room, even though we had booked a "superior room", knowing that they had a nonrefundable one night's payment. We went into another section of the hotel, and it seemed very up-to-date, clean, etc. In our section, the carpet was stained, the room was small, the window opened up to an alley, no chair in the room except for the desk chair, one hour after check-in time the room still was not ready, and on and on...... The bed was comfortable with good pillows. The concierge service was very helpful and the restaurant was good, yet expensive for breakfast.

We chose this hotel due to its location immediately across the street from the central train station, as we were arriving from Brussels by train. When we checked in, the first room that was assigned had a bathroom on one level, and steep stairs down to the bedroom. And the window view was a brick wall. I asked for a change of room, and was given a much better room all on the same level and with a view. So, if you do get a split level room, ask to be put into another room instead. Other than that, the stay was wonderful and the concierge staff was wonderful. Breakfast buffet is good, but very expensive at $22 euros per person. Less expensive breakfast options are all around the hotel.

Location, location, location. It is close to Dan Square (Royal Palace), very close to most city buses and underground and very close to the Central station which will take you anywhere in Holland including Amsterdam (Schiphol) airport.

Centrally located in Amsterdam, near red light district, central station, etc. Good, english speaking staff. Great for a guys trip to Holland

Very convenient when arriving from the station. Just out of the station and cross the road.Check in staff were pleasant. Room was alright, but not sure if the duvet cover was clean as there was an unpleasant smell on it. Good size room. Toiletries in bathroom and tea making stuff in room. Didn't spend alot of time in the room, but it was ok.

For the price, it was nice. In an excellent location with an excellent bar and restaurant. The steam room and sauna were nice too, even though they weren't free to use-only 10 euros. Very good service.

Great Hotel.The location could not be better,right in front of the Central Station.Almost everything within walking distance.Staff very helpful and attentive, and a great restaurant there by the lobby.Highly recommended.

I was not impressed by the hotel service atal, as when we were ready to check out of the hotel room the telephone rang and it was one of the people from reception saying "wer we checking out some time today??" We were then left with impression that we were aloud leave our bags in the hotel room and when we came back to collect them and to check out . Our deposit of a €150 was reduced to €70 as we got charged for leaving our bags there. When i asked the receptionist why had we been charged she was highly ignorent and was not very proffessional. And in addition to this complaint i also have a complaint of the time we checked in at we got our room a 2 o clock the friday which was very unfair because we wanted to check in at 11 o clock and had to walk around amsterdam waiting for a room, this was not a very well ran hotel.

Our three children (23, 16 and 9) were able to have three beds in their own room - which was great for them and for us! The hotel's location opposite Central Station made coming and going during our stay very easy. The pool is small but fun and the sauna and steam room etc really relaxing. Great to have after a day walking round the city.

The initial impression of the hotel had me worried. Our room wasn't ready, so we had to wait 30 minutes. We were, however, given a free drink each in the bar. The room, when we got in, was not good. It overlooked a busy street and the balcony doors didn't close fully, so it was both draughty and noisy - we could hear conversations on the street below. I went to reception and asked for another room. This was provided with no fuss and this room was as expected - warm, clean and comfortable. We had booked an "Executive room" which meant there was a coffee machine in the room and breakfast was included. Well worth the extra.

Fantastic loacation

The hotel is in a great locatin opposite the Amsterdam Central Station. The hotel can be a bit of a Jeckyl and Hyde. Our initial room was on the back side of the hotel which was extremely small (room and bathroom). We complained and got a fantastic room facing the beautiful Central Station. The concierge was great and extremely helpful. Enjoyed the stay!!

I went with my boyfriend for the weekend at the end of Jan 09 and we had a great time. The hotel is clean and the rooms where really pleasent and a lot of effort had been put into it. It was'nt the biggest room in the world but it served its purpose. Staff where friendly and I would definately go back as the location was excellent. Could'nt have had a better location. As soon as we steped out of central station we could see our hotel. Really good pick considering the price

Ideal Location. Opposite Central making it very convenient in travelling to and fom Schipol Airport. Many sights just a stones throw away, the red light district was about two minutes away, as was Dam Square, the National Monument and the Royal Place, Anne Franks House was about a fifteen minute walk, and then the rijsk and Van Gogh Museum were about half an hour away on foot. The service I recieved was fabulous, there was a mistake made on my room on arrival but the staff were only to happy to sort it out as soon as they could. The rooms had recently been re-decorated and refurbished, so it was very clean and well kept. The only thing that let it down, is the food. I'd recommend eating out of the hotel.

This hotel is in a great location opposite central station.The public areas ,the lobby,bar and brasserie are in excellent condition and relaxing. The room was clean and comfortable although looking a little tired ! The facilities in the room were okay. The hotel has a pool although not the biggest was perfectly adequate for a nice relaxing dip. Overall, I would say this hotel represents outstanding value esp compared with some of the more prestigous hotels in Amsterdam!

The room's were ok for the money, though you can get much better value a little further away from the city center, such as at Vondel Park. The worst part about this hotel was the parking. The hotel advertises 'secure parking', though the parking is a 10 minute walk away and costs about $75/day. If you are arriving by train, the location is perfect however!

Myself & hubby stayed for a weekend in January, we could not fault the hotel, our room (suite) was lovely, the staff were extremely helpful and courteous and to top it all the location was spot on, across from the train station and tram terminus as well as the canal trip. Behind the hotel is great shopping street, with bars and eateries

We booked our stay at the Victoria based on its proximity to the Centraal Train Station. The location was very convenient for us. Our room was more spacious than I expected, with the exception of the tiny (typical Euro) bathroom. We did not have a room off the street, so I can't comment on street noise, but better soundproofing is needed between rooms. We could hear people walking down the hall in front of our room as though our door was wide open, and it wasn't. I can still hear the guy in the room next to us whistling. Overall, the room was clean. The exception was the top of the closet. I made the mistake of putting my hat there, and when I pulled it down, I also pulled down about a decade's worth of dust. Beware of the breakfast buffet. We were under the misunderstanding that it was included in the price of the room, and it wasn't. The hotel made no attempt to explain it beforehand, so when we checked out, we got hit with an 88 euro charge for 2 breakfasts x 2 people, which, with the unfavorable exchange rate, came to nearly $130 U.S. (in other words, $30+ U.S. per person for one breakfast). We didn't leave happy campers, as no breakfast is worth that kind of money to us.
