Gardens Hotel - Manchester

Het hotel ligt op een uitstekende locatie in het centrum van Manchester. Alles is binnen handbereik: openbaar vervoer, pubs, restaurants en winkelcentrum. De kamers zijn zeer netjes en comfortabel. Zelfs gratis thee en koffie op de kamer. Enige minpunt is de beperkte keuze bij het ontbijt als je niet van 'English Breakfast' houdt. Over het algemeen een hotel dat van harte is aan te bevelen.

Ligt goed centraal in Manchester, goede uitvalsbasis voor de dingen die je graag wilt doen

When we arrived at this hotel, there were rubbish bags in the lobby area just laying about, and the faux snake/osterich chairs were a bit Over the Top considering the rest of the hotel, but the lobby had clearly just undergone a refurbishment of sorts and looked semi-clean (barring the rubbish bags - but at least the rubbish was in the bags and not on the floor). Once in our rooms, it was a different story. A crooked lamp (broken) on the desk, brown streaks running down the walls and something that resembled a bullet hole next to one of the beds. The carpets were not even properly fitted to the rooms, it looked like someone had gone out to get the leftovers but they didn't quite fit. Let's move on to the bathrooms. The showers had mold gathering in the grout and crevices, hte sink taps had missing bits, the loo roll holder was broken nad left on the wall as a consolation prize and the loo actually moved when you sat down. In some hallways, there were random holes in the walls and it had a feeling of being in a bad horror movie. In the end, we left the hotel and went to the premier inn, which was like a squeaky clean mecca in comparison.

Only a five minute walk from Manchester Picadilly Station, so the hotel is centrally located. Was worried that the hotel might be noisy as located on a busy hotel, but as my room wasn't facing this road it was quite, apart from the odd saturday night reveler returing to their room, which is maybe what you expect. Hotel is a little tired looking, and the views are not exciting, but more importantly it is clean and the staff are friendly and helpful. Our stay was room only, which suited us as plenty of place to eat near-by. Would use the hotel again if I was staying in Manchester.

The hotel is in a central location; is cheap and very comfortable. The service is excellent and the staff helpful. Its a clean and pleasant hotel. Very impressed.

A nice central location, low prices. So I got about what I was waiting for. Not very clean room, leaking building, drafty and a bit noisy room. But I got what I paid for, no big complaints.

The location of this hotel is excellent being right on Piccadilly gardens but that was the best thing about it. The staff weren't rude but a smile wouldn't have hurt. The room was comfortable and the decor was what was expected for the price, unfortunately the shower was awful which was a deal breaker for me. It kept changing temperature and moving so the water was going on the wall. I wouldn't stay here again.

Myself and three friends stayed in the Gardens Hotel, it was cheap and is in a great location,. If you're looking for somewhere to just sleep and store your shopping then this is the place to stay.

I found thehotel was in a good location i used it for an overnight stay after going to a concert . they had a night porter so no trouble getting in late at night .the room was ok tea and coffee at hand so great for a brew when you got in .Would use it again.

It is not suitable for more than a few days but excellently placed in the middle of Manchester. I was rung up by the porter in the middle of the night, the shower and bath controls were "muddled" so don't be wet in the shower when you turn on the cold tap and burn your feet! But the breakfast was good and the room was clean even if the noise from other guests might be intrusive through the paper-thin walls. But although its clearly Victorian and therefore NOT modern, its location makes it a success as a mid-priced Bed & Breakfast. I would give it a go if you're only staying there a couple of nights.

The hotel location is nice, in the middle of everything and still close to railway station. There is nothing special about the hotel: everything is not impressing, but quite acceptable. If you find the price reasonable, it is quite OK.

enjoyed our brief stay at the G ardens Hotel which is very well situated for transport,bars and eateries in central Mancester.Only complaint was the view of a derilct building fom the room window !

This hotel was booked for a stag weekend so the location was great and the decor was pure retro: you're only sleeping there, remember?

Right, I will cut to the chase with this hotel, it ain't the ritz by any means but you will not get a hotel that is more central to everything and is walking distance to the train station which is fantastic!!! I would strike you from the outside as completely dodge and the clientele hanging around outside are fairly dodge too but you get over this. I have been to this hotel twice now and will go back again because ultimetly you want to be in the heart of it all and near to public transport and it gets an A for this. Rooms very clean but may not have any lights working in it and let's just say, they have seen better days!!!??

Went for a game at Old Trafford to see the mighty Man United. This Hotel is very close to the main railway station Picaddilly and the mall and tram stop towards Old Trafford.

The hotel is right in the centre, only a stones throw from everything the city has to offer. The hotel itself was good, could do with a lick of paint here and there, but was comftorable, and resonably priced. The staff were helpfull, and the rooms comftorable. I would stay here again if I ws returning to manchester.

We were looking for a basic cheap hotel in the centre of manchester and thats exactly what we got. The staff were friendly and the hotel clean. I would happily stay there again if needed.

The room is very clean, only the neon lights outside the hotel is too strong, and the light pass the curtins. little dificult for sleep with the noise in street.

I liked the hotel and would recommend it. It was in good repair and the bathroom was clean and the shower wan great (and had great towels). Room was not large, but the hotel had a small, multi-level lounge area by the door and bar and people met there. It was on a large square and just off the end of a wide pedestrian-only street that had lots of shops. the shopping area and mall were very busy. The center of town is small, and I could walk to most attractions is 15-20 minutes. The hotel is three-four blocks from the train line from the airport and I did not have to spend money for a taxi. Manchester has two train stations and both are within walking distance. The square is a major bus transit place and I'm sure I could have gotten to any of the suburbs by using one of the busses that stopped at the square. There are clubs near by and Chinatown is a 10 minute walk. While the square was very busy, my room at the back was quiet. I did not have A.C., but did not need it. Manchester is/was not hot.

Hotel was fine - polite staff no problems at all. The location was incredibly central - however this meant it was really quite loud outside at night. So as long as you can sleep through traffic noise then it's totally fine.

For the price, I wasn't expecting much. Just a clean place to put my head, really. But it still disappointed. The room obviously hadn't been vacuumed properly, as there were candy wrappers on the floor. The cover on the fan in the bathroom had fallen off, and what was exposed was a dirty mess. The shower didn't work properly (only hot water, the cold water continued to come out of the bath spout even with the shower on). The wireless internet did not exist. Great location, poor hotel

I arrived very late due to train being delayed (around midnight). Staff were indifferent, ignoring me at first, then a new member of staff was taken through the procedure of checking me in by a more experienced staff member. Why they couldn't read the strong non-verbals e.g. yawning, looking dog-tired, that this was not the appropriate moment, I don't know. The smell of cigarette smoke pervaded the entrance and reception because staff were popping out for a cig and standing just outside the entrance, so the smoke was blowing in. The following morning the water supply was cut off. Most staff seemed indifferent and shrugged when asked what I do to get a shower, go to the toilet. One member of staff did seem to be taking this seriously and was apologetic and helpful, but the hotel seemed to be waiting for people to discover this rather than ringing around to apologise and explain how we could get a shower etc - i.e. be proactive. Apart from one member of staff (british guy) most of the staff seemed to lack any social skills, or were indifferent.

hotel in good city centre position a bit shabby photo's on internet made it look better than it was.heating on all the time nice to be warm but i found that it was a bit loud all the time did not have a very good view out the window scruffy court yard.

The hotel is in an excellent location for shopping, dining, nightife and the bus depot is in walking distance. The staff were very friendly and the room cleaned on a daily basis. We had everything we needed including kettle, hair dryer, iron, jacuzzi bath and the most beautiful 4 poster bed. With a lovely view of picadilly, what more coukd we ask for. Great value and will definately return.

Hotel is small and comfortable, excellent location for a city visit. Liked Manchester and would like to visit again and would certainly use this hotel.

The first room i was given had NO WINDOW!! I was given the card key for another that after two trips past the torn wallpaper and filthy carpet in the hallways didn't work so was eventualy 'upgraded' to a double room even though I had only booked a single. There was still hair in the plug hole. At least the sheets were clean.... i think!!

Central hotel in an ideal location but in need of re decorating fire alarm went off at midnight and staff acted quickly

Great Location. Nothing extravagant but value for money. If you want a central hotel thats not too pricey this is more than adequate.

Nice hotel, nothing special but didn't feel as cloned as other usual chain places. Bit of a dodgy shower, but we were hungover which could have made it seem more complicated than it was...

Beds are made without a top sheet so you have to sleep directly under a blanket and bedspread. We found that bizarre. In parts, the room was very dirty. Reception staff were not the friendliest nor most helpful.

Very run down. Towels were so old they were grey. Condition of the room very worn

Regarding location this hotel is ideal. Its a short stroll from Picadilly Station and pretty much looks on to Picadilly Gardens. Unfortunately this also means its busy outside and can get quite noisey. If you're looking for somewhere luxurious this isn't it but its not a bad place especially if you want to be smack bang in the middle of Manchester.

This hotel is very close the Picadilly train station and everything in the city centre and the north quarter. The staff was very nice and everything appeared to be clean and in order.

Situated between both train stations and very close to the main shops, the location of this hotel is ideal. Also lots of other facilities on the door step such as supermarkets, restaurants and bars. Thought it might be noisy but was pleasantly surprised to find it was quiet. Will use this hotel again when I next book for a concert at the MEN arena.

The lobby was partially redone in about 1981 and hasn't been touched sense. There seem to be three choices of views: air shaft, deserted warehouse, and noisy, busy intersection. I chose the noisy intersection. Beds were comfortable. Breakfast was not free, but it was such an awful breakfast room that I chose to get pastries at a coffee stand in the train station. More ambience.

Although not luxurious, the Gardens Hotel is attractive and comfortable. Selling points are its location in downtown Manchester and its walking-distance proximity to the Manchester train station. I was allowed to check in several hours early, which was a big help to me as an international traveler.

War einfach toll. Die Lage ist ideal: Ganz zentral, viele Sehenswürdigkeiten sind zu Fuß erreichbar. Sauber. Die Servicekräfte sind nett. Im Verhältnis zu dem Preis ist das Hotel echt empfehlenswert.

Ett centralt beläget litet hotell, gångavstånd och nära till det mesta. Därmed också ganska stökig miljö precis utanför otellet. Jag var dock inte särskilt imponerad av hotellets och rummens standard. Jag skulle inte klassa det som ett 3 stjärnigt hotell, snarare 2 minus. Rummen var väldigt slitna och gav därför känslan av att vara rätt sunkiga, i behov av en renovering. Badrummet hyfsat fräsht och rent men i duschen kunde man enbart få iskallt vatten genom duschmunstycket eller kokhett vatten genom badkarskranen. Jag skulle inte välja detta hotell igen.

Wir waren für 3 Nächte im Gardens Hotel, um Oasis in Manchester zu sehen und haben gleichzeitig die Zeit genutzt die Stadt ein bisschen kennenzulernen. Die Lage des Hotels ist wirklich ausgezeichnet man ist mitten im Zetrum und es lässt sich alles perfekt zu fuss erreichen ( Bus / bahn / Supermarkt / Stadt Zentrum Pubs ... etc ) Das Hotel war sauber. Man muss allerdings nichts grosses erwarten, die Zimmer sind recht einfach gestaltet und die Türen sind sehr dünn, so dass man jedes Geräusch hört. Die Servicekräfte waren stehts freundlich und hilfreich. Für uns war der Aufenthalt aufgrund der Lage und des Preises perfekt. Ich würde sofort nochmal dorthin gehen. Wär allerdings komfort braucht sollte doch woanders hin gehen.

Sehr zentral , tolles Preis-Leistungsverhältnis .

Hotellet ligger centralt placeret i Manchester og angående servicen på hotellet var der ikke noget at sætte en finger på. Personalet var venligt og hjalp gerne med at guide én på et kort hen til steder man måtte ønske at besøge. Rengøringen var fin, selvom en lidt grundigere støvsugning ville have været godt (der lå nogle krummer under den ene seng fra en tidligere gæst). Resten af værelset ink. badeværelset var dog gjort pænt rent.

Jeg overnattede på hotellet i to dage. Servicen var som den nu skulle være. Der var rent, sengene var okay, alt i alt et udmærket hotel til den pris. Belligenheden bliver ikke meget bedre.

Zimmer war ohne Fenster, daher dunkles Loch

Service und Ausstattung der Zimmer war zufriedenstellend. In den nächsten Jahren hätte das Hotel jedoch einmal eine Renovierung notwendig. Daher vermutlich auch der relativ günstige Zimmerpreis trotz exzellenter Lage in der Innenstadt von Manchester.

Det var typisk engelsk standard men rent och snyggt. Var över förväntan nöjd med rummet, men hade också inga högre förväntningar. Personalen var serviceminded och tog hand om bagage etc på avresedagen utan problem. Vi hade fotbollsbiljetter som levererades till hotellet och de hade inte riktigt koll på dem till en början och det var väl ett minus.. Tycker det funkade alldeles utmärkt annars och att det var bra för de pengar vi betalade.

Very nice people at the reception, a bit worn and not up to date interior but clean, only real annoyance was noisy cleaning staff on the aisle in the morning
