Seneca Hotel & Suites - Chicago

Top hotel en alles op loopafstand bereikbaar. Superkeuken aanwezig in mijn hotelkamer, met alles erop en eraan.

Wij vonden het hotel erg goed en zouden zeker mensen aanraden om hier hun overnachting in Chicago te boeken. De ligging van het hotel is perfect. Vlakbij Lake Michigan en Michigan Avenue. Als we nog een puntje van kritiek moeten geven is het de geur van de airco. Als je de kamer binnenkomt ruikt het hardstikke muf. Maar als je een raampje open zet is die geur na een tijdje wel weg.

Het hotel ligt naast het John Hancockcenter aan de Magnificent Mile. Erg centraal. Het hotel zelf is erg netjes en de service is prima. Wij hadden een kamer die erg ruim was en aan de achterkant van het pand lag. Voor het uitzicht hoef je het niet te doen maar geen geluidsoverlast.

As this hotel wasn't exactly expensive, we weren't expecting much. However, the rooms were bigger than expected, the staff nice and location very good (right next to the Hancock Observatory). Value for money.

When something sounds to good to be true it usually is - not in this case!! The location next to the John Hancock Centre is great, the hotel has friendly and helpful staff, comfortable rooms and a great little cafe that serves lovely breakfasts. Would highly recommend the hotel, especially the suites, to anyone visiting Chicago

The hotel was great and location was better. My only complaint was the bed. Best location in chicago and a great staff. Just bring a pillow top for the hard mattress. The room also had a fridge and stove and microwave. Helps save money by being able to warm up leftover food from restaurants.

Very Nice location. Hotel Staff really attentive. The rooms need to be updated, but overall I would surely stay in this hotel again.

We were pleasantly surprised by this hotel. Considering it's location just off Michigan Ave, it was an outstanding bargain. The hotel is older and not recently renovated, but the king-size suite with full kitchen was well worth the money. The included full breakfast made this hotel even better, considering how much it would cost to eat out. We'd stay at the Seneca again in a heartbeat.

This hotel was eye catching both in and out. The service was great and the location was excellent. The main thing I disliked, was the bed. I felt like I was sleeping on a cement slab. The ajoining resturaunt/bar was awsome. The breakfast diner was also great. To me a comfortable bed is the most important part of a hotel room, so in saying this I don't think I would stay here again unless they changed the beds. No offense to the hotel and the service. Everything else was fine.

This is a wonderful Hotel built earlier but has all the amenities with Kitchen and equipment for personal cooking and refrigerator. You can't beat the location Downtown right near the Hancock Building and walking distance to the lake front and beach

Excellent value. Great location. They upgraded my room to a suite without a request from me and the suite was very spacious. Would highly recommend this hotel to others.

The suite was huge and very comfortable. Great location, just steps from Michigan Ave. and two blocks from Oak St. beach. Nice roodftop terrace and fitness room. We will recommend to others and stay here again.

We felt right at home at Seneca Hotel and Suites. The rooftop deck was very enjoyable, as was the hotel room, which included a full kitchen, sitting area, desk space, and large bedroom.

Wonderful room and great value--not great dining options IN the hotel, but plentiful options around it.

The staff was extremely courtious, and helpful. Can't wait to get back.

We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived. We did not expect the great Service of the Staff or the Size and Comfort of the Room for the relative small Amount we payed. The room was actually more like a suite, with a Living room, small Kitchen, Bedroom and small Bathroom. The bed was very comfortable. The free Breakfast was OK. The Hotel is located right of Michigan Ave, and Central to all the great Stores in Chicago. It is also within walking distance of Lake Michigan. We would most certainly stay in this Hotel again!

Everyone was very friendly and accomodated all of my needs. I was very pleased with the way I was treated from the moment I walked through the door!

Great space, full kitchen, top floor suite. Great deal for the discount online. Just keep in mind that parking downtown is expensive. The hotel has parking for $48, but there are parking places just around the corner for $28-$30 per day.

We were prepared for a somewhat rundown and dated hotel. What a surprise! Run down-no. Dated-maybe, but in a charming, welcoming way.

My only comment is that the room was not ready at the time we arrived, however, once we saw the room it by far exceeded our wildest expectations for the price that we paid.

We were amazed that there was a fully equipped kitchen in the hotel for the very low prce we paid for our stay. Great location-one block from Michigan Ave. It was great having the kitchen, we cooked in every night and saved a bunch of money! The only complaints I have is the bed and pillows weren't the best quality, and the bathroom and very small. But for the price we paid, and having the fully equipped kitchen, I would stay there again.

This was our first stay at the Seneca Hotel and we were very satisfied. The suite was comfortable and spacious and the staff was very nice. We arrived too early to check in but they allowed us to leave our luggage while we shopped. Be sure and check out their beautiful rooftop patio.

Great room, great price in a great area. Staff were friendly but found we only had one set of towels...a suite no less. Called lobby and later still no more towels. Rechecked and they mistakenly had sent more to the wrong room. Finally received more towels. I'm a smoker and was in a smoking room. I know that many of you don't appreciate this but I couldn't find an ashtray. I left a message for housekeeping but they didn't respond or bring any ashtrays. Overall though very satisfied with the Seneca. Our room hadn't been remodeled yet but still was very nice and clean.

We went for a quick getaway to Chitown for our 2nd Anniversary and the suite was great. It was very comfortable and met all of our needs. The kitchen came equipped with everything you needed for cooking,stove, pots, dinnerware, flatware, etc. Great location a block from Magnificent Mile right behind the John Hancock Observatory (kiddie corner from Waters Tower) and withing walking distance to Navy Pier and Gino's East. No complaints except parking at the hotel is $48 other than that....GREAT PLACE TO GET AWAY AND VERY CLOSE TO EVERYTHING. WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

The hotel was lovely and very clean. The staff was helpful and courteous, and the beds were amazing for hotel beds! The only problem was the parking was pretty expensive--probably to be expected in downtown Chicago.

Seneca Hotel is only 1 block from Michigan Ave. The lower price staying just 1 block away from Michigan Ave was a huge advantage. They held our luggage after checkout. Great giving directions and helping with bus info. Room not overly modern but was perfectly fine. Watch out for the complementary breakfast. It was very good but does not include juice. We paid $7 for 2 glasses of juice even though the breakfast was free! This is the 2nd time I have stayed at the Seneca and would do it again.

I was pleasantly surprised at the room we got for the money, it was actually a suite with a full kitchen and even a washer/dryer. The location is awesome, we were able to walk to everywhere we wanted to go. I would definitely stay here again.

Our stay at the Seneca was awesome. The suite we got was gigantic for the price we paid and the Gold Coast location in Chicago was 2 buildings away from the Hancock and Water Tower Place. With the economy in recession, we got a great deal. Could have paid 3 times the price. Even the cafe downstairs was convenient and affordable. The only downside was the rooms/suite had stained capet, outdated appliances/decor, and hard bed. Overall, for the price I rate 4 stars of 5.

Only stayed for one night. Good location, right by Water Tower Place. Nothing special. Too much money for what you get.

I paid a great price for this room and was not expecting the high end feel of this hotel. An older hotel it kept the feel of the era it was built with all the newest features fitted in. The staff was great but it is a little off a main street so getting a cab takes just a little longer to hail from down at the corner for the Doormen. I will most assuredly stay here again and will tell anyone who asks. A frequent Chicago visitor this is the best I have found. One block from the John Hancock Building and Drury Lane Theater great shopping and restaurants are everywhere. The streets safe and clean.We were very happy.

Outstanding hotel. They treated us great, and it was wonderful. I highly recommend a stay.

Excellent hotel. Very clean and quiet. Location is very good, and the restaurant for breakfast had good food.

Located in the Gold Coast area of Chicago we felt safe. There is no Pool for the kids or great views of the lake but its clean older elegance is comfortable and the staff was helpful and friendly. The free breakfast is served here in a sit down diner with personally cooked eggs your way, bacon, sausage or ham plus hashbrowns and your drink. Easily $11 elsewhere. Because of parking come to town and take cabs or public transportation. The cost of parking in the city is very high everywhere. Cabs are fairly easy to get. The theaters, plush restaurants and shopping are at your doorstep. WE loved it.

The condition of the hotel was a little underwhelming. The breakfast included was also very average. The valet parking was a mystery. I was told one amount for valet and charged another. Good location, safe place, but the overall quality and value was pretty average. Maybe spend a little more and stay somewhere nicer.
