Walper Terrace Hotel - Kitchener

In the heart of Kitchener, lovely old lodging that is clean and well-restored. The parking access was unclear and under construction when we arrived, but the valet parking service is free.

Very old hotel with poor quality. I would select another hotel for next stay.

This hotel was wonderful. It is very old and has a lot of history. They were very helpful in meeting the needs of my family. We had booked the wrong type of room and they were able to change that quickly for us. They had a crib/pack 'n play for my toddler. We had also not booked ourselves for enough nights they were able to accomidate for that as well. There is a $50 deposit required when you check in that you get back at the end.

went on a business trip. I had booked a standard room first which smelt really bad (as if no one had been in that room for months) and started feeling very itchy. So got an upgrade to executive suite, which was ok. There were two rooms, one which contained air conditioner and other did not. So had to increase the air conditioner in the first room so that it transferred the air and temperature to the other. Very very poor internet connection. I was not able to work on anything.

Room was very clean but rather small. The maid service was dissappointing. They did not remove and replace dirty glasses or mugs. I had to drink out of the same glass for 3 days.

This is an older hotel and is great if you like old hotels. Some rooms are good sized and others are very small.

We were given a low rate room through Hotels.com... right over the banquet hall, where a boisterous wedding reception was running til 1am. We could hear every word and feel the floor thumping. Requested a new room, were give one a floor higher- this worked out well, but being an extra cost room, you can't always count on such a deal being available.

i really liked the location and being able to walk out of the hotel and visit the local business without driving. the resaurant and the comedy club in the lower level were also nice to have at the hotel property. the rooms were nice because you could open a window and get fresh air which is usually impossible at regular hotels. i would use this hotel for future visits.

The Walper Terrace Hotel is a truly restored historical hotel that offers a good room and service for the price. The rooms are comfortable and clean. The older heating and cooling systems can be a bit noisy and city traffic noise can be heard, as the hotel sits in the immediate downtown area of Kitchener. That being said, I have stayed at the Walper most times that I visit Kitchener, and that has been several times, simply for the good value that the hotel offers and convienience of its location. The service from the hotel staff is impecable and food served in the Terrace cafe and the Rum Rummer's Pub is very good and resonable in cost.
