Quality Crown Hotel Paddington - Londen

Goed hotel, over het algemeen tevreden. Voordelen: schoon, modern ingericht, goede ligging t.o.v. metro en bus, goede eetgelegenheden in de buurt. Nadelen: kamer zeer klein ( een koffer van normaal formaat kun je er moeilijk kwijt), badkamer zeer klein, lawaai aan de straatkant (vooral in het weekend), tamelijk hard bed.

Ik was verrast over de luxe van de kamers. Modern, goed bed. De verzorging is prima, geen stofje te zien en als je wilt elke dag schoon beddegoed. Ik heb wel een persoonlijke noot. De badkamer/douche is erg klein. Voor wat meer 'gewichtige' mensen wat aan de krappe kant, zoals de instap in de douche. Het double bed is krap omdat het tegen de muur aan staat, eigenlijk alleen geschikt voor alleengebruik. Voor minder validen is de entree en de hal minder geschikt, hoge treden en gladde vloer. Geen trapleuning. De omgeving is wat lawaaiing, boven de subway van Paddington, naast het treinstation en naast een ziekenhuis. Dat stoort niet, het zijn geluiden van een grote stad. Ik vind het een goede uitvalsbasis en ik zal zeker nog een keer terugkomen.

hotel is well located, but room was very small and oddly shaped. first night of stay fire alarm went off and we were out in the cold for 20 minutes while firemen determined it was not a fire. neighborhood a little seedy, noisy. not what we expected in a hotel rated 4 star.

Is there any way to make the room bigger?

Second time I have stayed there on business from the US and I would stay there for vacation too. Rooms are smaller than what one might be use to in the US, but that stands to reason! They are far from too small. I travel solo for business and it suits my needs perfectly, when we return in December I see no reason why the room I had would not work out fine for my wife and I. Staff are ALWAYS willing to help and I have already referred numerous folks including the people I sat next to on the flight home. Very well done!

The room was not ready when I arrived, and while it was not advertised to be ready early, this was the first hotel that I've stayed at in Europe that rooms were not available for transatlantic travelers. The bathroom that they sent me to use to freshen up after my arrival smelled like a public toilet that clearly hadn't been cleaned in a while. Not a great first impression!

This hotel is particularly good for those who are not very familiar with London. Paddington Station is about 50 feet from the front door of this hotel which connects you to nearly anywhere in London including the very easy and highly recommended Heathrow Express for those coming and going from the airport. Room was efficiently created to give the guests everything you needed in as small an area as possible. Remember its London and space is expensive so don't expect a huge room. The bed was comfortable, staff was friendly, Garfunkles is directly below for breakfast and those families who are watching the budget and would like convenience and a meal that is not going to cost much. I'll probably stay there again the next time I go back.

Good location. Room was very small but had everything that was needed. Staff were not rude but not overly helpful. They had no toothpaste in the hotel when we asked which is ridiculous for a 4 star hotel. We also couldn't get Ice after 10.30 because the restaurant was closed and the ice machine was broken. Not nice in the hot summer. This hotel was NOT worth the money we paid for it

the staff there was great and very accomodating. They made great dinner recommendations and tour suggestions. My room was quite comfortable in terms of size and configuration, however those I traveled with had a King size bed in a very tiny room. Barely enough room to walk between the end of the bed and the wall. Their bathroom was very small; mine was quite large but it was a handicapped accessible room.

I've stayed at Quality Crown Hotel Paddington more than 6 times as have my family members and business colleagues that I have recommended this hotel to. The hotel itself is nice and the location is excellent but the staff is less than enthusiastic about service which ruins the entire experience. During this stay, I arrived with a prepaid reservation only to be told that I had no reservation and that I could be accommodated at their other hotel around the corner. After showing the staff my hotels.com reservation, the hotel employee called central reservations which also said that I did not have a reservation. The hotel employee then told me that they were fully booked and went on to assisting his colleague with ordering a pizza (no joke) and arguing with another guest about late check out fee of 40 pounds sterling. Feeling ignored, I requested that he call hotels.com so we could find out about my reservation which he did, reluctantly (and he continued to complain to me about the other guest who would not agree to the 40-pound charge for late check out). I spoke to hotels.com who assured me that I did have a reservation that was paid for. The hotels.com representative then contacted central reservations who in turn contacted the hotel and I was given a room - yes, suddenly there was a room for me. I can't help but think that this was a way to get me to pay more money to stay at the hotel chains other property. To top the situation off, the hotel employee then began to tell me how Americans don't understand that they should book directly through the hotel and not hotels.com and blah blah blah. During my stay, this same employee continued to make comments whenever I walked through the lobby and, when I had family come to the hotel to pick me up, he told them that I had never checked in. Of course, once I showed up in the lobby he didn't have much more to say. I am extremely disappointed with the service I have received the last two times I stayed at this hotel but

This hotel is very clean and well maintained. It is located next door to the Paddington train and tube stop as well as good nearby restaurants and shopping. The room was a bit bigger than normal London fare-well worth the price!

TINY rooms, but very clean and recently renovated. The location (right next to Paddington Station) was very convenient, but the neighborhood wasn't very exciting.

Excellent location. Right next to the Paddington underground which makes getting around London very easy.

My daughter and I visited London June 4th through the 8th when we left for Paris. The rate was good, the location in terms of the Paddington Station was great, as well as the next door McDonald's for breakfast on the run. There is also a BK across the street! There is a Big Bus stop (tour bus; hop on, hop off) right across the street as well. The hotel is walking distance to Kensington Park and the neighborhood has great little restaurants all around. The room was small, on the 5th floor and had the slanted ceiling on one side, so my daughter had to be careful not to bang her head when getting out of bed! I would have asked for a room change but she wanted to stay. There is complimentary coffee - decaf and regular and cookies in the room. I think I would enjoy staying closer to the west end next time, but would stay here again.

Sitting right next to Paddington Station, a quick trip from Heathrow Airport via the Heathrow Express, the Quality Crown is clean, comfortable, and convenient. There is a Garfunkels attached, making warm breakfasts easy to come by and well stocked, if compact gym on the 2nd floor. The cleaning staff were thorough and the accommodations modern. All in all, a very good experience, particularly for business travelers.

This hotel is right across the street from one of the Paddington station exits - literally a 3-minute walk. The price was just right for the location and amazing convenience, plus the room was comfortable, clean, and trendy-looking. The bed was just the right mix of firm and soft, too. I highly recommend this hotel.

The hotel is very convenient to Paddington Station and the tube is the best way to get around London. Rooms were a little small but we expected that after reading reviews about all hotel rooms in London. The staff were friendly, very well informed and very helpful.

Right next to Paddington Station (Railroad and tube), which was perfect for our train usage (to/from Heathrow, plus local trips to countryside, and around London). Small rooms, but clean and modern. If all you need is a place to sleep, this hotel is for you. Some nice neighborhood pubs within walking distance.

I was very pleasantly surprised when I emerged from the Paddington Rail Station looked left and saw my hotel. not much from the outside but very nice for the money inside. Polite helpful staff. And so easy to catch the tube or if you like walking in London like I do, a quick stroll to Hyde Park, Oxford St, Picadilly Circus and many other great London spots. I will stay again when in London!

Great hotel and great location. Hotel was next to Paddington Station and surprisingly there was no train noise at all in the room itself. Was allowed to check in a couple hours early and front desk was extremely helpful. Had a problem with the TV but it was fixed the same day. Room with King Bed was a little small/tight but was expected for a European hotel. Will defiantly stay again the next time I'm in London.

I was very impressed. Although small it was new and clean - I think they had just re-carpeted as it was new. The room/bathroom is small but we were fine. The bed was comfortable, shower was very nice. All in all, I would definitely stay there again.

This is the perfect location if you are planning on taking the Heathrow Express. We had an early morning flight so we checked out of the hotel were staying at in Mayfair and checked into this hotel just for the night. We had to catch the 5:15am Heathrow Express and the location was perfect. Literally right across the street from Paddington. The only downside was that the room was a little loud. It was a beautiful night so we wanted to leave the window open, but it was way too lound. Also, you have to pay per day to watch the TV - not just movies. Not a big deal though. Who wants to watch TV while in London anyway!

Next to Paddington Station Underground & Main Bus Routes. Safe Neighborhood, great park within 1/2 mile. Great Staff & very helpful. Can't say enough about how the employees were so willing to answer & assist with all my needs!!!! And Yes, rooms are small compared to American hotels, but plenty of room for 2 adults. Bathrooms are small, but very nicely equipped and modern....

I booked this hotel based primarily on the previous reviews. We ended up switching rooms after the first night. We had paid for a room with a king-size bed in it. However, a UK king-size is different from a US King-size (and the matress we were given was slightly smaller than a UK king-size). Around the bed, there was space to walk (which is all we really needed). When we discussed our concerns with the perpetually unhelpful manager, he first stated that he could do nothing about it. Later, my husband requested a "technical downgrade" where the manager put us in a room with two twin beds and put the beds together (this equals the size of a US king). The room itself was considerably larger. The proximity to Paddington station was nice (we bought unlimited use daily tube tickets) but the distance from everything else was troublesome (if we came back in the early evening, if was difficult to go back out again given the necessary commute). I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

This hotel was very clean and updated. The location was perfect for trains and the underground. The room was a bit small but fine.

They moved us to an affiliated hotel next door, the Indigo Hotel. It was amazing, clean, modern, great bathroom. The room itself was a bit small...but so close to the underground and great access to circle and bakerloo lines. Front desk staff were very pleasant!

We had no problems and did not hear any tube noise. Location is great. Rooms are small, but so are all rooms in Europe. We have stayed in several places in and around Paddington, also Italy, Germany, etc. We found larger accomodations with condos/apts, but that can be tricky.

We checked in early and although they were not able to let us into our room, they did give us an upgrade and offer to keep our bags. The room and bathroom was beautiful and spacious. The bed was a little hard, but everything else about the room made up for this fact. The hotel is perfectly situation right next to Paddington station, which makes it perfect for travel to Heathrow and tube trips around London. This hotel is an amazing deal!

Due to getting no sleep on the flight over like we had hoped, we arrived in London at 8 a.m. ready to just sleep. We went to our hotel, fully prepared to pay an extra night if it meant we could just check in then (9 a.m. by this point), and instead, the desk person was wonderfully helpful and asked if we could wait 15 minutes in the lobby. That way, they would have our room ready at no extra charge, a full 5 hours before normal check-in time. We were delighted. The room was quite comfortable, great bed and amenities...small, but that is to be expected. Location is IDEAL, as it is right next to the Paddington station, which will take you about anywhere. We would definitely stay here again, and recommend it to anyone wanting to go to London.

Right outside Paddington Station, which has direct train access to Heathrow as well as underground connections to all the main things to see in London, the hotel is conveniently located for international travelers. Also, there are a number of delightful and relatively inexpensive restaurants just a few minutes away. WiFi in the hotel is expensive, but it is free right next door at McDonald's.

Location Location Location. Just across the street from Paddington in a great part of London. Tube station entrance adjacent and from there all of London is close by. Stayed two nights and it was very quiet. Overall a great value.

This hotel was perfect for our four-day leisure trip to London. The convenience of being right next to Paddington Station was perfect, connecting us to all areas of London. Although the rooms are small, as can be expected in Europe, they are amazingly clean and in very good condition. They even have flat-screen TVs and iPod docking stations in the rooms. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to London!

why drag your bags all over town when you can get off the express from airport, and then use paddington station on the circle line for tourism

We wanted something close to the train station to/from the airport that was comfortable. This met the requirements completely. It had all of the amenities that we were looking for.

So I travel to/from the USA->UK->IRELAND and back. For me this hotel is right NEXT to Paddington station. Great location because it's near a few good pubs (for dinner/lunch), next to Paddington so I can get to the Heathrow Express within 2 minutes and I can also get to the London Underground. It may be considered a little noisy for some people, but I slept fine. I'm a light sleeper and it worked for me.

Overall very happy with this hotel. The location next to Paddington was perfect - easy to/from airport and to hop on the Tube or bus. Also, lots of place to eat/drink nearby. Only draw back was a loud door-banging -- we were located next to a back stairwell that was used at all hours by the hotel staff... it needed some cushion so it didn't slam so loud when shutting. Very happy with free WiFi and modern, clean room.

The hotel was conveniently located outside the train and subway station. It was very cold, but we were easily able to travel to the theaters in spite of the snow and wind. The front desk people were helpful and friendly. We had booked a room with 2 beds, but for the first night, only a double bed was available. The staff did the best they could for us and it all worked out fine.

Very Impressed with Hotel, location was prefect,(right beside Paddington Underground) Reception were very helpful and rooms were very modern. However the rooms were very very small(the smallest I've ever stayed in). Not enough romm for two people to pass eachother and no room

Our trip may not be typical, as we were in London during the snow and it was very cold. The room wasn't very warm. It was extremely small - like a cabin on a ship - because of the cold, we probably spent more time than normal in the room and I now know what "cabin fever" feels like!! For the price etc the hotel was okay and was quite central - just beside the train station Heathrow Express takes 15 mins which was good. However, the cramped conditions in the room were very claustrophobic for me.

Good place for a London overnight. Reasonably priced by london standards, right next to Paddington, clean and good standard of fit, free wifi, flat screen tv, ipod dock. Rooms are tiny though and no restaraunt/bar (although Garfunkels next door). Tip: Go 2 doors down to the Hilton for breakfast/business meetings.

Very good location as it is close to paddington station... place is clean, but the rooms are very small and the mattress was very uncomfortable...

The room is quite large by European Standards. Best value for the money.

I can recommend this hotel for a brief London stay. The hotel is clean and everything, including Internet access, worked well. The room is small, but clean, neat and fresh. The gym was small, but fine for a work-out early in the morning. The super bonus is the location just next to Paddington station. Couldn't be better when flying from Heathrow. Friendly and helpful staff.

The best thing about this hotel is its location next to Paddington Station. If you fly to Heathrow, the Paddington Express gets you from Heathrow to the station in about 15 minutes. It is a very short walk to the hotel that invloves nothing difficult to navigate. Several tube lines go through Paddington, making it easy to get around London. The rooms are clean, but small. The bathroom is also small, but it has the basics. The fitness center is adequate. There are several dining options within a block, including an attached restaurant and bar and steak place across the corner. McDonald's is next door and Burger King across the street. If size does not matter, then this is a great place to stay.

I chose this hotel for its location to Paddington Station as well as its reviews. The hotel staff were nice and the room was well decorated and clean, albeit a little small (no place to leave your suitcases). I have one huge negative and that is regarding the mattress. It was obviously a very old spring mattress and you could feel each spring and it appeared to slope to one side. We will definitely stay there again. It was the perfect location and Garfunkels Restaurant was on the ground floor. Who sleeps when you're visiting London anyway?
