Great location

The Crown Plaza exceeded my expectations. It is an older hotel which adds to its charm. As other reviewers noted, yes, the rooms are small but not overly so. We had ample space and the room was very clean. The beds are very comfortable. The front desk staff and housekeeping were very nice and helpful. We were also pleasantly surprised with a free upgrade to a fallsview room. The location was perfect, as we did not have a car, but were able to walk to all of the main attractions as well as back and forth to the U.S. side of the falls. My only complaint was a shelf in the bathroom located over the sink. It is so low and close to the sink that you must be careful not to hit your head.

The hotel was great. Very clean, close to attractions, walking distance. The Butterfly conservatory was pretty far from the hotel,but driving was easy. Staff was helpful. Very, very expensive to eat. Adverage for dinner for 3 people 80.00 no alocholic drinks. Breakfeast was 60.00.

This hotel was an amazing experience but was pricey.

This was one of the nicest places we have stayed for the money. The location in relation to the falls and attractions/dining was excellent. The staff was friendly, helpful and very courteous. We would definitely go back to this hotel.

The Crowne Plaza Niagara Falls View had the aura of an older hotel with contemporary amenities. The staff was extremely pleasant and the room was within viewing distance of the falls. The bed was comfortable and we were given a $40.00 gift certificate toward dinner in the Rainbow Room on the 10th floor. It overlooks the falls and the dinners are expensive but delicious.

The location and the condition of the hotel was very good, but our room was very bad. The carpet was very dirty and the room-especially the bathroom-had a very unpleasant odor. We tried to mask with Lysol, but didn't help very much.

Room was too small and the Jacuzzi did not work. The pool was too cold. Lobby was nice, but needs a litle of work on the cealing. Staff was friendly and very helpful. What is nice about the hotel that u could bring food or any drinks inside the hotel and the falls are very close from the hotel. Nice view from the Rainbow restaurant. Elevator was slow and u have to pay for parking which is 15.00 dollar each night.

We love the idea that the hotel is in falls avenue area. The hotel also connecting to many places. And also the hotel have their indoorwaterpark. The area is the best because so close to the falls and very close to the attraction area we dont have to drive just walking around. Very nice are and very safe too.

Hotel is in good location, rooms are small, hair dryer didn't work. I guess you're paying for the view, not for the luxury of the hotel.

Clean and well kept, but outdated.

I really liked the historical pictures they had of the falls throughout the hotel. The rooms are a bit small, but the location is great, the service is friendly and the price is right. You do have to pay $15 per day parking which they told me over the phone.

The hotel is very nice. The only down side is that the rooms are small. We were traveling with an infant and when you put a crib in the room it gets very cramped. We upgraded to a full falls view and the view was amazing!

This was by far the best place we have ever stayed at. The dinner was a bit tricky since we were presented with a $40 towards the purchase of our dinner which ended up costing us over $100 but it was almost worth it..the view in the restaurant is phenomenal! Otherwise, I was very pleased with out stay. I would strongly recommend this hotel to anybody!

This hotel, for the location, price we paid, and old charm was superb. If you do not expect to spend but a few hours of awake time in it, then you will be pleasantly surprised at the accomodations for the cost. *Especially compared to our next stop in Niagara-on-the-Lake. I was disappointed in the fact that I thought I had pd for a king and it was a double. Had to pay 25 more dollars to have it upgraded but it was worth it as we could see the falls from our window and left the window open at night to listen to the sound of the falls as well. The sunrise, although at 5am, came up in our other window and just added to the experience! (Corner unit) It is perfectly situated! We parked the car and walked everywhere. Staff was incredible and the foyer beautiful. We have already recommended the hotel to others and will return here on our next trip. I will use hotels.com again as well, double checking my info first of course!

Minutes after we crossed the Rainbow Bridge into Niagara Falls, my wife and I were driving down Clifton Street... Holy Crap! We have never seen such a concentration of tourist traps, and not the fun "roadside attraction" kind either. We were a little nervous about what our hotel was going to be like. What a nice surprise the Crowne Plaza is (one of the few peaceful and elegant places in Niagara Falls.) The lobby is amazing, the rooms are spotless and beautifully decorated and the Rainbow Room is the most tasteful restaurant in Niagara Falls plus it has the best view. Vintage photos of the area hung throughout the hotel help remind you Niagara Falls is not just haunted houses and wax museums. The hotel is walking distance to everything! Do not get stuck out on Lundy Lane or in one of the new high rises in the new high rise area.

Her glory days are gone, and the prices for the rooms are still there, too high and need to be adjusted way down. Area hotels have more to offer.

The location is the best part of this relic. Too many other hotels to choose from, with a better flare and less headaches. Her best days are long gone, and you can smell it.

Excellent location, walkway to casino,walking distance to Clifton hill,loved the CD in room,loved the complimentary toileteries since I forgot to pack,some hotels charge for those.Pool, sauna,hot tub were great.

We only had one night in Niagara Falls and I wanted to be sure we were close to the action. The hotel staff were awesome, and gave us some toothbrushes, etc...because our bags didn't make the flight. The room had a little bag with special amenities like a lavender linen spray and a calming sleep CD. I stay in hotels all the time and have never seen that. The hotel has lots of old-world charm & decor. We loved that Marilyn Monroe had stayed there. Being attached to the casino and lots of restaurants/ shops was so convenient. The falls were easy walking distance. We would definitely stay here again.

this was about my 5th stay i find hotel is a perfect location for easy cross over when we head home to US good food beds great will stay again

The hotel was rather dated and not as nice as it seemed online. The elevator was broken and the wait time to get to out 6th floor room was rather long... most of the time took the stairs (down) at least. The room was very small, and crowded for four people. Very hot, we had to keep a window cracked the entire trip... Nice view of the falls, clean, and nice towels... I guess it was ok, we had a great time, but would consider staying some where else next time.

Can't say enough good things about this hotel. Unfortunately, we went at the end of the season and the pool was closed. Gave us the option of using the pool at the Sheraton. The location is prime to everything you would want to do in Niagara.

Well, the hotel was nice. The rooms that appear on their website are not even close to where we stayed, very disappointed in that. The customer service at the Hotel was less than desireable, very rude and not helpful at all. We were charged "local access fee's" for using the phone in our room, that was an unexpected fee (they were local calls). The only positive thing about the hotel experience was when I got home and contacted Hotels.com, the person I spoke was very nice, very apologetic. The next time we go to the "Falls" we will definitely stay on the American side.

My sister, my 1 year old nephew and I checked into the hotel at a little after 1 pm on 10/8/08, and we were upgraded by kim to a 2 room executive suite with queen beds and a great view of both the american and horseshoe falls that was a plus right there for me. the rooms were clean, and cozy and the staff was very friendly. P.S make sure to have the prime rib steak dinner @ 16.95 best steak I have ever had

The hotel was very nice, but be prepared to view a parking garage if you don't spend the extra money for the Falls View rooms. Which maybe be okay depending on you intentions for the room. We just used it as a place to sleep, because the best views are walking around the Falls.

Hotel was clean and in a great location. Easy to find. We like the older hotels, they have so much character. The rooms were very updated and we had a view of the falls!! Would certainly stay there again.

the only issue we had was the parking was additional but it was that way most anywhere else. We could see the falls from our room. Staff was friendly. Pool and hot tub were great!

The room was nice. Nice beds...it's not huge, but it was enough for the one night that we stayed there. The bathroom did not have a fan to air out the bathroom, so any smells can and will spread throughout the room,however pleasant or unpleasant they might be. So you might want to bring an airfreshner. It is right across the street from the falls. They charge for parking. They also charge a fee for calling outside of the hotel, even if it is a 1-800 number... Overall it is worth it if you are staying for a night or two.

Beautiful Lobby! Room small but cozy.

Was a little disappointed with the fire alarm going off at 3 a.m. and having to go outside in the rain for 30 minutes. It turned out to be a false alarm, which I wish could have been diagnosed by hotel staff before making everyone evacuate.

We had a superior fallsview with a king bed. You really could see both falls from the room - the view was worth the extra price. The bed was super comfortable. Service was good and the hotel is close to all the Niagara attractions. Some of the reviews said the rooms were small, but it seemed to me to be the same as most hotel rooms.

Room was comfortable and convenient to many attractions- casino, waterpark, amusement park area and close to the falls. However, I was surprised at the price of food which was at least 30%-50% higher than in the US- (average price for a hamburger was $13) Canada also has a number of taxes added on to the bill so make sure you budget for additional costs. The restaurant in the hotel has a lovely view and reasonable dinner prices during the early evening.

Nice Hotel. Great location. They are a bit understaffed and people were not available to answer calls to the font desk. There was never a person available to help with planning activities. I was actually referred to the Sheraton to get help with planning activities.

The veiw from our room was outstanding. The employees were very helpful. We were provided a wheelchair for my wife's mother and helped at every oppurtunity. She has cancer and was probably making her last vacation. I could not have been more pleased with the service and accomidations. I would like to thank the desk person for getting the wheelchair, it made our trip. Thanks

My expectations with this hotel were by far exceeded. The staff was very professional and friendly, the building and lobby itself were beautiful, and it was located within walking distance to all the local tourist attractions. The restaurant on the top floor had a beautiful view of Niagara Falls. The hotel is historic too. It's the oldest hotel in Niagara Falls. Some of the rooms could use a little updating (the bathroom mostly), but it wasn't anything to complain about. The pool was never crowded and was very comfortable. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Niagara Falls. If and when I go back, I will be staying here again.
