Embassy Suites Chicago Downtown - Lakefront - Chicago

The complimentary breakfast is too crowded and it's difficult to find a seat. The "living room" and the bathroom of the suites need more light. Staff was generally very helpful, friendly, and professional.

OUR FIRST VISIT TO CHICAGO. WE STAYED 5 NIGHTS, SO THE 2 ROOM SUITE GAVE US AMPLE ROOM. BATHROOM WAS SPACIOUS.THIS EMBASSY COULD NOT HAVE BEEN BETTER. LOCATION WAS PERFECT! 3 BLOCKS TO NAVY PIER AND THE LAKE WITH WALKING/BIKE PATHS. DBLE DECK CITY TOUR BUS STOPPED 1/2 BLOCK FROM HOTEL. WE CROSSED COLUMBUS, WALKED UP STAIRS AND A SHORT BLOCK TO MICHIGAN AVE, WRIGLEY AND TRIBUNE BLDGS, RIVER TOURS. FREE BREAKFAST AT THE HOTEL EXCEEDED OUR EXPECTATIONS - NOT TO MENTION SAVING US A TON OF MONEY. IN TODAY'S ECONOMY, WE WERE VERY SURPRISED THAT HAPPY HR WAS STILL FREE AS WELL. EVERYONE WAS SO COURTIOUS AND HELPFUL. OH,AND THERE'S A VERY NICE GROCERY STORE ACROSS THE STREET. YES, WE WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL.

Great location, only a short walk over to Michigan Ave. All staff members we encountered were very professional and seemed happy and eager to help us. They let us check in early and offered to hold our bags after we checked out. The room was quite a surprise. It was a two room suite with a large lcd tv and the most comfortable bed ever. They offered free breakfast (cooked to order) in their large sky-lobby area, and also free cocktails in the evening (unfortunately, we were not around the hotel at this time). Beautiful hotel, comfortable room, very good location. Highly recommended.

Room refrigerator did not work. Nice staff and decent housekeeping.

For the price my friends and I paid, it was a great hotel. Complimentary breakfast and drinks? Who can complain. The room was very clean with a great view and everything is within a short walking distance away or at least close to the train. The only complaint I would have is the high price of the hotel parking garage. We left our car at Midway's Economy Parking for way cheaper and took the orange line into the city. Overall, Embassy Suites is a great place to stay if you are planning a trip to Chicago.

Only two blocks from Navy Pier and two blocks from The Magnificent Mile. A short walk to Grant Park and Millenium Park. Chicago River Walk is right there too. We were as happy as we could have been witht the location of the hotel. I've stayed at Embassy Suites before and this one is just like all the others. Clean, friendly staff and free breakfast. What more could you ask for? We will definitely be staying here on our next trip to Chicago!!

I stayed at this hotel August 1-3. We drove from Detroit and arrived very early. (9:00 AM) We went to check in to see if our room might be ready and was told that the hotel was sold out the previous night and that night that we were staying. We checked our luggage without a problem and went on our way. Later that day we returned and our room was ready. The room was nice, beds were very comfortable but a bit small. We got a room with two doubles. Overall, the room as nice and clean. We stayed there for the breakfast and the drinks at night. The breakfest was very slow. The first morning, we got the buffet lined moved, breakfast was average at best. Could not find a seat. The next morning we got the cook to order to see if that would be better, the food was very good, but it took us 40 mins inline to get our food. The nightly drinks were very good, although you could only get one drink at a time and the line again was long. It took about 10 mins to get a drink. After one drink we did not want to stand inline again so we just went to the bar down the street. Overall, the hotel was very good. I am not sure if I would stay there again. I might look for a hotel that has queen size beds.

The hotel was nice, the staff was friendly, but the Valet Parking was very expensive. Also, be sure you specify smoking or non smoking rooms. I thought I specified non smoking but the room we were given was a smoking room and it was very noticiable.

Room was very comfortable - Having a suite was ideal when traveling with the kits. Pool was dirty (floating hairballs), whirl pool smelled foul. Our kids didn't mind though, swimming was still a highlight of their stay.

All aspects of service was tremendous. Hotel staff was terrific. The room was very clean and maintained well. We have family of 5 and stayed comfortably in a 2 Queen w/sofa bed suite. Location for Mag Mile shopping and Navy Pier was perfect. Short drive/cab ride to Museum Campus and the Museum of Science & Industry. The free breakfast was actually a GOOD meal. The Make To Order line takes a bit longer than the two buffet lines, but you can get a made-to-order omlette. The only "gotcha" was the cost of parking. You'll want to use Valet parking. Any other option is just too inconvenient; however, be prepared to pay $49/day parking. This is our third different hotel stay on the Mag Mile, and our best so far.

We loved the Embassy Suites. It would be wonderful if it had a restaurant associated with it. However, we founds a great Italian restaurant 2 blocks away. The breakfast and manager's special were the best we've seen!

We chose Embassy Suites because we were having a girls night and wanted some extra room that this hotel offered. The hotel was very nice and we especially loved the free happy hour and snacks that were available when we checked in around 5pm. Upon check-in, there were long lines and only one person working the desk but once another person opened up another line the process went much faster. Our room was great! Very spacious. The only complaint I have about the room is that the AC unit didn't work very well- it kept kicking off and it made it difficult to sleep comfortably in the warm temperature. Overall, I would definitely stay here again and would recommend this hotel to my friends.

This was the second time we stayed at the Embassy Suites Lakefront. Last July my daughter & I & 3 girls stayed here for an American Girl Store getaway! The hotel is very kid friendly--the fantastic breakfast with cook to order omelets & everything else you can imagine is wonderful. We had a problem---my Granddaughter became locked in the bathroom when the door handle broke. Hotel maintenance had to replace the handle while she sat wrapped in her towel after her shower! We tried to find humor in the situation to ease her fear during the 30 minute ordeal & the hotel was so gracious as to refund us that nights stay!!! We teased her saying she would have to do that every night!!!! This stay-4 adults- everything was great again! We really enjoyed the daily "Happy Hour"--free drinks & again the great breakfast bar! The beds are super comfortable & we had a great view of the lake. Staff is very friendly & quick to respond to any needs. Location couldn't be better---walking distance to Navy Pier & The Magnificient Mile. We would definitely stay here again & hope to do so!!!!

We were within walking distance of lots of great sites! Hotel staff was friendly and accomodating. Breakfast was great except for long lines at certain times.

This hotel was great. It was in the perfect location. Navy Pier, Michigan Ave., and many other attractions were in walking distance. The hotel rooms were spacious and very nice. We received a room upgrade for free when we checked in. I would definitely recommend this hotel to my friends and family. I will be staying at Embassy Suites Chicago Downtown - Lakefront in the future.

Expensive hotel and charges extra for wi-fi access in room. Many other hotels at this price include wi-fi in the room rates.

Have stayed at several other hotels in the area and this one compares favorably.

Loved it except for minor room assignment problem in our party. Fixed the next day.

Some desk clerks were rude, unorganized and argumentative. Seemed easily frustrated with customers and were verbally inappropriate.

I had booked 4 rooms for a conference in Chicago. We were not able to check into one of the double rooms that we requested until the second day. For some reason they had given away our room to another party, which left us with a king room. This was a very difficult situation for us, but they fixed it the next day. Also...I had faxed in an authorization to put all parking charges on one VISA and that request was not on file. Again, the desk fixed this for me, but in this digital age, I would think that there would be fewer goofs.

This hotel is a great central location to just about everything. The breakfast buffet was very nice. The staff was professional and helpful. On the down side...our room could of been cleaner and the pool was a disappointment because it was so small.

The hotel is great. I love the complimentary breakfast -- and it's a full breakfast, not just continental. The room was just okay. The night stand light wasn't working and the TV in the living area was having problems. The engineer did come and fix the TV which was good. It took a long time for housekeeping to clean the room. It was after 2:00 or 3:00 in the afternoon before they came. Valet parking was spectacular. They were courteous and brought my car in under 10 minutes. The staff was very pleasant and went the extra mile to accommodate the guests. Overall, I was pleased with my stay.

The Chicago Lakefront Embassy Suites was a close to perfect choice for us: close to Navy Pier for that night's 4th of July fireworks; a pretty good hot breakfast included with the one night hotel fee; and the allure of downtown Chicago. The one glitch was the need to call the desk and wait for a tech guy to get one of the two otherwise very nice TV's.

I have stayed at Embassy Suites before and this was nothing like them. This hotel was dirty and aged. The front desk staff were very rude. The managers reception was a joke. The food provided was chips and trail mix. There was literaly no business travlers at this hotel. Wonder why?

Very convenient location and courteous staff. The lounge furniture was certainly past it's prime but the only real irritation was the necessity of having to use two elevators to go from our floor to exit the hotel, passing through the busy lobby each time. We would stay here again.

The interior of the atrium is very non-descript. Almost an institutional feel. But overall a good experience.

Great value considering you get a unlimited cocktails at the managers reception and a great breakfast. Only complaint was the lines at the breakfast were kind of long. Overall a great stay. I will be back again.

We were given a room on the 15th floor with windows facing the Lake, affording excellent views for the fireworks on the 4th of July. Convenient walking distance from both the Art Institute of Chicago and the Magnificant Mile. Good value for money.

Very pleasant and friendly. Excellent other than we were on floor 8, smell of smoke in room.

This was our first trip to Chicago with the whole family - 2 adults, 4 children. It was a comfortable hotel and very conviently located from the Navy Pier and Magnificient Mile. We were able to walk to a lot of places and what was not in walking distance was easily caught by the city bus system.

This Embassy Suite's location is perfect for families and others. There is a movie theater, and bowling ally right next door. You can easily walk to Navy Pier. Michigan Avenue with all the shopping, parks, and museums are also within walking distance. The staff are extremely helpful.

The staff was very friendly, the location is excellent and the free breakfast in the morning is second to none!

The staff were very forthcoming when it came to bringing up extra towels -- since we were four adults in the two room suite.

An excellent hotel with friendly staff. Felt welcomed. Great proximity to lots of things to do. Walking distance to Miracle Mile, Navy Pier, restaurants. Loved the complimentary breakfast, and the room was comfortable. Our son enjoyed the scene as well.

We arrived in Chicago early, and our room was ready for us. My husband and I were traveling with our three children. The room was plenty spacious. It was in a great location -- walking distance to many sites. The complimentary breakfast was excellent, and we enjoyed the afternoon "manager's special." We will never stay anywhere else in Chicago!

Very impressed with this hotel - great value for the price. The suites are roomy enough that traveling with children was comfortable. The extensive hot and cold breakfast every morning saved us time and money, and the complimentary manager's reception every evening gave us a break between daytime sightseeing and nighttime adventures. Will definitely stay at this hotel again.

We asked for extra towels and a blanket but never received them. And we tried to call for room service, nobody answered, we called the front desk and was told the kitchen was closed (even though it listed 24 hour room service), then the kitchen called back 1/2 hour later and asked if we wanted something. This is a beautiful hotel, the desk service was very nice, great happy hour, pool is small and was too crowded, great location.
