Floris Karos Brugge - Bruges

Na online wat hotels in Brugge bekeken te hebben leek dit hotels ons qua prijs en voorzieningen de beste keus. Nog steeds niet goedkoop te noemen, maar de foto's geven een sfeervol hotel weer. Echter is de werkelijkheid wat anders. De gangetje in het nieuwere gedeelte zien er leeg en armoedig uit en de kamer zelf was ernstig over datum. Oude vooroorlogse beeldbuis, loshangende gordijnen, vies tappijt en schimmelende zeepbakjes in de badkamer. Ook beloofd het hotel een mooi zwembad + sauna. toen ik wilde zwemmen ben ik maar snel weer gegaan. In de hoek van het complex staat een oud bubbelbad weg te rotten, de muren zijn vies (zwemwater zag er ok uit) en de sauna kost nog eens 15 euro voor 30 minuten. Erg jammer. Ook het ontbijt was zwaar onder te maat. Ze hebben aan de voorzijde een prachtige ruimte, maar alle gasten werden ondergebracht in een TL verlichte ruimte zonder ramen met een ontbijt dat je eerder bij een 1 ster hotel in frankrijk verwacht. Weinig keus en geef sfeer. Locatie is overigens prima. 5 minuten lopen naar het centrum. Maar mijn advies: Geef 10 euro meer uit voor een fatsoenlijk hotel.

The hotel is well located, right on bus line and not far from the train station. The comp. breakfast was very good, and to me the bike I rented there at the hotel was just what I wanted to tour the town, two days in a row. The room was better than others I had reserved in Europe for about the same price.

The desk staff was warm and very helpful- they provided us with restaurant recommendations that ended up being some of our best experiences in Europe. The hotel is clean, the breakfast had good choices and the breakfast room was inviting. We were given a simple,clean, good sized, "family room" for the three of us, and we were very comfortable sleeping. Otherwise, nothing inside the room worked. A broken handle on the inside of the bathroom door (which the hotel staff did not know about until we told them) ended up causing one of my children to be locked in the room, in the bathroom, for almost 45 minutes until we could rescue her. Nothing worked in the room: not the TV, not the alarm clock, and obviously not the bathroom door. When these were mentioned to the desk staff, they said there was little they could do about it.

The Floris Karos is an excellent, moderate sized hotel on the edge of the old city center. It provides excellent value for those that are willing to walk a few minutes into the city center. It is very close a large number (>10) restaurants and bars so it easy to find a diverse selection of quality food in the evening. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the continental breakfast provided a good start to the day. The town of Brugge was well worth the visit but had many more tourists than locals walking around !

My wife and I have stayed in many European hotels, and we know they can be different than American hotels... smaller, no a/c, limited amenities and so forth. Hotel Karos was the worst by far. The hotel isn't very well kept. Our room had carpet stains and rust stains in the bathroom. The air conditioner in the room didn't work. The minibar was fully unplugged and not in working order (yet still in the room). Light bulbs were out. The hot tub/jacuzzi area was boarded over with plywood. On top of this, the hotel seemed to nickel-and-dime for everything... wifi internet access, use of the very worn sauna, etc. It was an okay place to sleep and the breakfast was fine, but other than that it was an utter disaster. I do not recommend staying here ever ever ever.

The Floris Karos is close the the Market square and the station. Very well placed. Only complaint I had was when returning from a day out came back to my room to find the cleaners had left the door open.

not in city center but walkable. wifi can be tricky. try different spots in room. nothing at the desk. very slow at bed. moved 3' to window and worked great. small frig in room. very nice front desk staff. clean. good breakfast. enjoyed our stay.

Great amount of space in the room and bathroom. Very clean in the bathroom and room, It is located in a quiet perfect walking distant to the main part of town (about 5 mins).Lobby and lounge decor is very chic and stylish. My only complaint is that if you are staying on the first or second floor there is no elevator that goes there and you have to carry your luggage up or down, however, the man at the front desk was very helpful and carried our heavy luggage up!

We would stay here again. Very great. Large bathroom for Europe standards. Ask for a quite room. We did and we had an excellent room. Breakfast just OK, but fine. Stay here. Great price.

Located not too far from train station but taxi's have a fixed price Euro 5.30 to/from hotel. Nice location just outside main area and close to some nice bars/restaurants (4 mins walk). Hotel clean, breakfast OK. Breakfast staff could have been a bit more friendly but reception staff very nice. Tends to be a "drains" smell near rooms 50 - 53 but did not affect the inside of our room (51). Pool was open but not used - looked OK. Nice walk each day to centre of Brugge. Lots of nice restaurants to chose from

This hotel did the job nicely for what I wanted, to see Brugge, to have a base of traveling and get info on how to see the town, this hotel is great.. No major complaints. Good location. Good service, clean. Bed was a little too soft (just my personal taste), and the neighborhood it was in was a little quiet for my taste with nothing in the way of convenience stores or food, but nevertheless this place was a good buy.

The only thing that let this hotel down was the mouldy, shower curtain - it was disgusting - otherwise, very good value for money for a weekend break in Bruges.

Very clean and welcoming hotel. Well situated to take in the sights which are only a short walking distance away. The only down side to the hotel is the lack of tea making facilities in the room! Apart from that an excellent stay

The hotel is currently having it's electrics updated and new fire detection equipment installed. It is in an excellent location, 10 mins from the centre of Bruges. The breakfasts are good, a mix of continental breakfast with bacon and scrambled egg. The staff are friendly, helpful and courteous. The swimming pool didn't feel as cold as other reviewers have suggested. All in all, a nice place to stay.

Booked the hotel for its location, free parking on site, breakfast included and the swimming pool. Location was excellent just on the periphery of the old town so was quiet. Free parking was extremely convenient. Breakfast was adequate but frequently ran out of items. There seemed to be insufficient staffing. At the weekend at night there was only one female on duty to cover the bar and reception. There was a power cut in our section of the building which a guest assisted in finding the correct electrical trip switch. There was a significant problem with water leaking onto the floor outside our room. The carpet was constantly soaked. Nothing was done about this problem. The swimming pool was closed which was a great disappointment. 5 euro charge for use of mini bar fridge - should be in room price. Must add that the staff were very helpful.

Very nice & comfortable & perfect for Bruges walkabouts. X-celent for the money & resoable selection in the Bar & good breakfast.

Hotel was being refurbished whilst we were there but the staff were helpful and disruption kept to a minimum. Great location easy walk to Brugge centre and lots of restaurants within five minute walk. Breakfast was good and plenty of it.

My daughter chose the hotel as it was near to the town centre, had car parking and is reasonably priced. On arrival we were plesantly surprised to find the hotel beatifully and individually decorated for Christmas which added to the general festive air. The receptionist was extremely helpful in advising us where to head for the main attractions of the town and the facilities in the hotel were excellent. A very pleasant stay.

Je ferais tres court, l'hotel ne rentrera pas au patrimoine de l'UNESCO, mais c'est une bonne adresse, apres une longue journée de marche dans les superbes rues de BRUGES, pouvoir acceder gratuitement et à volonté à la piscine permet de se ressourcer pour une derniere balade vers les restos

Hottellet ligger i fin gåafstand til centrum, bus.mv. Hotellets komfort er ringe og lever bestemt ikke til beskrivelsen. Personalet er flinke men ikke så hjælpsomme. I den uge vi var der gik strømmen en dag, vi kunne ikke købe internet en dag p.g.a. tekniske problemer, der va ingen ledig parkering og vi fik afslag på at kunne ograde til et bedre værelse fordi vi havde bestilt og betalt hjemmefra selv om vi selvfølgelig ville betale differencen. Der var ingen almen service om området - ikke engang et oversigtskort til turister. Værelserne mod gaden er plaget af meget trafiksstøj og der var ulideligt varmt på værelset.

Hotel trés sympatique à 1 km du centre. la piscine intérieur est bien. et le petit déjeuner est généreux.

Une solution sympa pour visiter Bruges mais c'est loin d'être un palace! La chambre était kitsch et un peu vieillotte et les lit un peu mous! Mais je pense que ce type de chambre doit être réservée aux promotions. Petit déjeuner sympa même si le jus d'orange à le gout du Tang! J'ai adoré par contre la piscine chauffée (à 28°) et couverte! Bonne solution si on a une belle réduction...Possibilité de réserver un parking (8 places) pour 8 euros la journée!

au calme pres du centre avec son parking cette hotel est a conseiller sa formule petit dejeuner a volonte avec croissants pain jambon bacon omelette etc chacun y trouve son choix . pres du centre vous n'avez pas besoin de votre vehicule , la chambre est grande avec acces a une terrasse (chambre 16) la piscine lors de notre sejour n'etais pas disponible c'est mon seul grieffe .sinon l'hotel est calme et le personnel est a votre ecoute

Surement pas l'hôtel le plus récent de Bruges mais très bien situé et au personnel agréable. La piscine couverte est agréable.

L'hôtel fournit un 'pass' donnant droit à des réductions sur les entrées de musée, etc. Bien situé, centre historique proche, parking payant à proximité, petit déjeuner très complet. Un seul bémol : manque de pression dans la douche.

Hôtel vetuste, mal entretenu (sdb : joints et robinetterie, jaccuzi fermé avec des planches... beaucoup de bricolage...)

Hotel confrotable, bien chauffé et bien situé.

Lors de notre arrivée il n'y avait pas d'eau chaude dans l'hôtel à cause d'un bris qui fut réparé le soir même. La vue de notre chambre était obstruée par un vieux mur de briques rouges avec grande fenêtre d'une pièce de rangement ménager, un joli rideau aurait occulté ce débarras et agrémenter notre vision de l'environnement extérieur... Le frigo ne fonctionnait pas mais à la réception il y a eu proposition pour le remplacer , nous partions le lendemain et nous avons décliné l'offre. Malgré quelques inconvénients dû à la présence de menuisier à notre étage nous avons passés un agréable moment dans cette hôtel . Petit déjeuner copieux mais oeufs brouillés froid , manque de lait chaud et jus , il faut en demander le remplacement ...

hotel bien situé, proche centre. Un accueil plutôt moyen, notre chambre était au deuxième étage et nous avons eu la désagréable surprise de sentir une odeur nauséabonde qui persistait dans le couloir mais heureusement ne se propageait pas dans les chambres. Problème de canalisations, maisl'hotel ferme apparemment en janvier pour travaux. Les matelas n'étaient pas très comfortables (problème de dos le lendemain). Par contre très bon pdj. +++ la piscine intérieure et le sauna!!!

Pas de place de parking contrairement à ce qui est annoncé, pas de chauffage dans les 3 chambres, pas de couverture supplémentaire. Mais excellent petit déjeuner et bon accueil. a recommander en précisant les réserves ci dessus.

Les + : parking, superbe hall, très bon petit déjeuner! Les - : chambre spacieuse mais très vieillotte, la poignée de la porte nous est restée dans la main à la fermeture de la porte, pas d'eau chaude (pas assez de pression) le matin... bref, vu le prix pas terrible, surtout que sur place, on a pu voir quelques hotels sympathiques, beaucoup moins cher!

Très bon hotel : confort, silence, situation. La piscine est un atout de plus. Manque seulement un peu plus de place de parking

Sehr freundlicher Service, hatte sauberes ansprechendes DZ zur Einzelnutzung für Geschäftsreise verbunden mir Kurzbesichtigung Brügge. Stadtzentrum zu Fuß 10 Minuten. War für diesen Zweck und Preis absolut ok.

Accueil sympa avec verre de bienvenue Hôtel un peu vieillot, bruyant Buffet petit dej pas terrible, pas grand choix et pas réapprovisionné, cad premiers arrivés, premiers servis !

chambre pas prête, ampoule à changer pas fait... l'hotel est grand: accompagner les personnes éviterait de s'énerver surtout quand on vient de s'apercevoir que l'on vs a dérobé vtre portefeuille

Hotel spacieux : accueil, salon, bar, et chambre sous les toits très spacieux. En revanche décoration étrange et hétéroclite : élange de styles rustique et colonial ! J'ai rarement eu une chambre pour trois avec autant de surface (demander la n° 250). Proche du centre ville : Markt place (Beffroi) à 10 minutes à pied. Parking privé : gratuit. Mais nombre de places limité. Il faut arriver tôt dans l'après-midi pour avoir une place. Un bémol : odeur de renfermé dans l'ascenseur et en arrivant dans la chambre.

Wir sind als Familie (2 Eltern, 3 jugendliche Kinder) gereist, haben schöne Zimmer bekommen, hell, freundlich, leider war das Zimmer der Eltern stark verraucht - keine Nichtraucherzimmer vorhanden! Bei diesem Hotel ist der Lack schon etwas ab, die Zimmer waren stark verwohnt. Sehr schön ist das Schwimmbad für die Kinder, die nach anstrengenden Stadtrundgängen diesen Komfort genossen haben. Schöner als auf den ersten Blick anzunehmen, ist die Lage. Von der Schnellstraße spürt man nichts, unsere Zimmer lagen alle ruhig nach hinten heraus. Trotzdem, wegen des Zustands, nur eine eingeschränkte Empfehlung. Preis - Leistung sind grenzwertig.
