Windtower Lodge and Suites - Canmore

After 7 days in and around Banff, my new wife and I checked into the Windtower before heading back home. The stay was Very very disappointing. First of all, it is in Condoland. The top 2 floors are condos and the bottom two floors are hotel closets. I say closets because the size of our room was one of the smallest we have ever stayed in. Problems included: The room overhead fan's chain was wrapped around the fan shaft so we had to fix that. I went to pour wine into the glasses supplied and found one had not been cleaned and was covered inside in old toothpaste residue.Ice bucket was missing after being told it was under the sink. When asked for a replacement for the glass or bucket, she was very indifferent and no apology was offered. We asked for wireless internet access to check in for our flight home ($10 fee but the front office person gave it to us for free) Well, it didn't work in our room anyways as we were told it was too far away from the front desk. This after 2 attempts by getting the sheet for Mac users and new passwords from the front desk. We asked where else we could get internet access and were given directions to the local library. An hour later I check at the front again and ask about local access and was told"Well, you can use our internet room in the side room but they charge $2 for 10 minutes and its slow"ARRG She also told us that the hotel doesn't allow pets due to fire regulations yet they allow pets in the condos? The front office gal was nice enough but very uninformed and unapologetic over all these issues. Parking was $7/night unless you wanted to park on the street. The breakfast was good For the price we paid, we felt very disappointed and ended what up to that point was a wonderfull honeymoon.

rooms were smaller than a motel 6 barely turn around in them. facility was very nice, but very misleading as to the single rooms. go elsewhere if not purchasing a suite. don,t purchase a single room if you need any space at all.

The room was very clean. It was nice to have the stove, refrigerator, and washer/dryer. There was a complementary hot breakfast each morning that got the day started right. The junior suite was spacious enough, very nice. But the one bedroom was way too small- I would not have considered it at all (200 sq. ft.)
