Hilton Vancouver Metrotown - Burnaby

It's not worth for the price.

I stayed in room 602 and the internet access is a headache, they only have cable internet access but connection is not stable, speed is way too slow, like 80's, I could not even download my company emails within 2 days! called front desk 3 times but no one pick up the phone, be careful if you have critical need to access internet in this hotel.

The hotel is within walking distance to the sky rail which is only $2.50 one way. Will take you to downtown or waterfront. Can walk from Cruise ship to sky rail if you don't have much luggage. A cab will cost you almost 40 dollars from waterfront. It is a $32 dollar cab ride to airport. Sky train doesn't go there yet.

Having stayed in over 100 hotels in over 10 countries on 4 continents I have seen my share of the good and the bad. Below is my take on the H in Vancouver. Overall: Recommended Pros: 1) Great Service, tending to all our tourist needs 2) Well Maintained, with the rooms not only being clean but also finding a rarity in soft, starch free towels 3) Semi-Well Located, within walking distance of the sky train 4) Excellent price Cons: 1) To those wishing to avoid a 10 minute drive to the city followed by parking this may not be best suited, providing you are not adverse to the skytrain (which is an experience in itself) 2) Have to pay for parking, though this is quite standard nowadays but surprising considering the hotel is outside the city center

Good location if you have a meeting there and like shopping...it's a great view and room for the value

Very pleased with the overall experience. Hotel staff very friendly and check in/out only took moments. Nice clean room with great views. Free parking was a define plus. Would stay there again!

I think we got a great deal for this hotel - it was clean and comfortable, and just what we needed. They also accommodated a change in plans due to weather/travel conditions.

Very happy with hotel - very reasonably priced - skytrain monorail was 5 mins walk from hotel -and took about 15 mins to centre - breakfast buffet in hotel cost $20 approx but was well worth it ! excellent service and we sat on lovely table on outside patio. rooms were very spacious clean and comfortable,

While they boast over 400 shops and restaurants within walking distance, they are all within the same mall across the street. Not the boutique type shopping we were expecting. The restaurants were typical of what you would find in a mall.

We wanted to avoid the high traffic and high hotel rates of the downtown area, so we opted for the Hilton Vancouver Metrotown. The Burnaby location is a short walk to the Skytrain metro stop and just a 10-15 minute ride to the False Creek and Waterfront area. The proximity to Metrotown is also very convenient as there are a variety of restaurants and grocery stores within walking distance to satisfy any need we had. There is a fee for parking in the underground garage, but it's nominal compared to the parking fees charged by hotels much closer to downtown.

This is easily the worst Hilton I've ever stayed at. The hotel is older and run down compared to other Hilton's which are usually stylish and well designed. It is next to a large mall but Burnaby is not really where you want to stay if you visit Vancouver.

With the purpose of knowing more of this city with such a high quality of life ratings (Economist/Mercer/Others), a two hours search for (1) distances, (2) surroundings and (3) rates-and-stars options (at summer) hinted that (1) Burnaby was/is a best location outside of downtown (later confirmed to 15...20 minutes from downtown riding SkyTrain and 5 minutes walk to the hotel), (2) the adjacent Crystal Mall and Metrotown Mall made it a probable good zone (later confirmed as "attractive"), and (3) three stars hotels will not significantly save dollars in this city. Walking is a pleasant experience in this city -except for Hastings St.- (made 34 miles/55 km in 4 days, including most of Kinsway Ave. and some random Skytrain stations places) the city general panorama can be somehow recognized from the metro cars (because they go above the streets, that is why "Sky Train" is the name). Daypass ($9) recommended for city experiencing purposes.

The staff was very frendly and helpful, the room was clean and over quality was outstanding

We loved our stay at the Hilton Metrotown. We got upgraded to a suite and the kids loved it. Great view from the our room. Has direct access to the Asian Mall and walking distance to the Metropolis mall. Didn't like the swimming pool though (sad looking, single lane pool). Only on person can swim in the pool.

Close to the mall so good for families with teenagers. Pool was not big enough to be considered a pool - maybe a mini lap pool.

Room was clean and comfortable. Bottled water was complimentary.

This hotel caters heavily to the Asian Community. We had to try several rooms before we found one that didnt smell like an ashtray, even though they assured us that we were in rooms designated as non-smoking. We did find one that was ok. Hallways, lobby and restaurant also smell of smoke and asia spices as this hotel adjoins an Asian shopping center (mall).

Great location, nice rooms, convenient fast speed internet, close to shopping, restaurants, entertainment/cinima and the Mall. Great for exploring Asian culture due to the closeness to Crystal Mall

.... thanks to the skytrain, you are close to downtown Vancouver. Good value for the price.
