Location. The high-rise Princesa Sofia Gran Hotel is located in the Diagonal financial district of Barcelona, Spain. The hotel is one block from the Royal Palace and two blocks from Barcelona Football Club's Camp Nou stadium. Gaudi's La Pedrera, the Gothic Quarter and the lively promenades of Las Ramblas are within four kilometres.
Hotel Features. The Princesa Sofia Gran Hotel occupies a modern tower with 19 floors. The marble- floored lobby is decorated with a blue-and-white colour scheme, and has a high ceiling with a chandelier. Guests can relax with complimentary newspapers in one of the lobby's several lounge areas. Concierge staff can provide information on Barcelona attractions and exchange currencies. There are onsite shops and a hair salon.

Contraste restaurant serves Mediterranean cuisine in three dining areas. A la carte, buffet and set menu options are available. The ground-floor restaurant offers breakfast, lunch and dinner. Drinks are on offer in the hotel's indoor bar and poolside bar.

The Princesa Sofia Gran Hotel offers 28 meeting and banquet rooms. Wireless Internet access is available (surcharge) throughout the hotel.

The hotel has indoor and outdoor pools. Guests can relax by the pool in a sun lounger, and enjoy drinks on the terrace. The spa offers saunas, a spa tub, hydrotherapy treatments, beauty services and in-room massage treatments (surcharges apply). The fitness room features large mirrors, weights and exercise machines. Guests can work out in the 24-hour 'mini gym'.

Guestrooms. The Princesa Sofia Gran Hotel's 500 climate-controlled, sound-proofed guestrooms are decorated in soft tones with dark wood furnishings. Rooms have wireless Internet access (surcharge), video games consoles, minibars and safes.

Expert Tip. Hotel staff may be able to help with tickets for games at Barcelona Football Club's Camp Nou stadium, two blocks from the hotel.

Routebeschrijving

From Barcelona Airport (BCN):
Distance to Princesa Sofia Gran Hotel is 15 kilometres, approximately 20 minutes' drive.

Getting there. There is a train station a short walk away from the airport terminals. The RENFE train runs between the airport and Barcelona's centre every half an hour. The fare is 3 EUR for a single ticket. There is an Aerobus service operating to Placa de Catalunya every 12 minutes, costing 6.50 EUR for a return ticket. There are taxi ranks in front of the terminal buildings, and the fare to the city centre is approximately 25 EUR. Prices are all subject to change.

Getting around. The Princesa Sofia Gran Hotel is located in the Diagonal financial district, between the Royal Palace and Barcelona Football Club's Camp Nou stadium. The integrated metro and bus system in Barcelona is a cheap, efficient way to explore the city. Validate tickets in machines prior to boarding. The nearest metro stop to the hotel is Maria Cristina. Onsite garage parking is available (surcharge).

Driving directions. From Barcelona Airport (BCN):
Drive into central Barcelona on the highway until you see signs for Avenida Diagonal.
Continue along Avenida Diagonal.
You will see the hotel on a square next to the Corte Ingles shopping mall.
